Hi Folks!

Maybe I am stupid, but there is a problem I can´t solve so far...

Besides harvesting I made some bubble hash, for the last
filter process I used a 20 micron polyamide fabric.
It took 3 days to seep through, but what I get is something
quite astonishing, more white than green.

Now my problem, I have no idea how to handle that, it´s like
super glue, whatever I use to move, even Silicone tools, nylon,
it STICKS! Even frozen to 14 °F... (see pic)
And I have no solid oil...
So, what material will reject this hash???

I use an old, dull butter knife that is *slightly* warmed over a flame. You want

the hash to just slide off of it, but not vaporize in the process.

Another option is to rinse the bag in some 99% ISO in a glass bowl, and then let

the ISO vaporize off. Set the bowl on a tilt so all the concentrate will collect in one

side of the bottom.

it's all trichomes and no oils so it acts like glue , wax paper then freeze it?

How fresh is the bubblehash? was it made hours ago or days ago? was the plant material fresh from harvest or dried beforehand? I have not made bubble hash before but I suspect the bubblehash will be incredibly sticky until it has dried a bit, some oxidation or other process which causes the skin of a hashball to dry and darken...this may be the process of the surface hash decarboxylating a little.... freezing it soon after processing it might not be the best thing.

Once suggestion would be sitting it out for a day or more to let it evaporate any moisture in the hash and to allow it to develop a skin... a fellow grower [bong] suggested putting a small fan blowing over it to aid in the drying.

I suspect if you do this you will have a more manageable product, but this is speculative advice only, I have no real experience or in-depth knowledge of it, this is just wh@ I would do in the situation.

There ARE some good posts about handling and processing bubblehash online but I have not gone looking for them.

Thanks, guys!

Well, I got my filter fabrics washed with some ethanol I found

in my garage.

Now I will put this sticky devil with a fan to a dark place for a while, and see....

I use a spoon to remove the hash from the bags while it is still wet and can transfer it to the small pieces of filter material that comes with the bubble bags and let it dry on those.

Yepp, waiting some more days in the drying chamber, the result is really satisfying (Thanks, lammuA),

there was still too much H2O inside! Now it reminds me of that "Red Lebanese" we had back in the 70s.

The smaller part is what I got after extracting the same amount of trim with ethanole, dark black color, and frozen

it breaks a bit like glass.

Hi there

I third the opinion of mua above....

Then

Be careful...
A lil'bit of Water left in side your bubblehash (unnoticeable) Will make it MOLD....

So dry it thoroughly...
And when you think it s Fully dried, dry it some more....
It CAN T hurt it to be too dry

It WILL hurt it if too wet....

Congrats on this 2017 harvest though!!!!

unless you store it frozen , if there is any H2O it can mold
