Spider mites came along, so I got an army of mantises to protect  the indoor crop.

(the green box shows a ladybug that found it's way in on it's own!

very cool.  I had a much easier time sourcing lady bugs than mantis's but that was last season and I'm still finding little lady bug carcasses in corners and cubby holes of my nearly sterile grown room.

I had a local place that sold Lady bugs.... they came refrigerated, and came to life from a hibernating state in moments out of the vegetable crisper.

They did not last and hang around as long as the Mantises did though, and the mantises procreated, making more nests!

Lady bugs are a great go to insect, and always treat my yard too since this is where they come from... :i-hate-flies-smiley-emoticon:

love the tiny mantis and mantids....wish I had access to bennys here....sometimes I wonder if its worth breeding some benny bugs muahahaha
