Yep, grandkids are the reward for not killing your teenagers :)

Hey knot, I meant to ask you what's the square footage of your grow area?

Hey Knot, if a cfl blows up again they say you should sweep not vacuum it.It keeps the mercury down more.

Peace,

Blue

there's nothing better than your first grow!  and you are doing great!!!  so is it a girl?  I usually veg for 30 days, and thats only because of height restrictions, topping helps them bush out (though i've sure grown way over my light toooooooo many times!)

remember to have fun!

Cigar's for everyone...It's a girl I do believe!!

I put some more lights on her today as well now I have 15 cfl 23w = 100w 1600 lumens 6500 k and that bump up the heat to about 83 degree's. I am thinking about trading some of them for 2700 lumens and see if that lowers the heat some. I have the door open with the fan on med but bumped that up to high to see if that lowers the heat first...just checked temp again and by turn the fan to high it has droped to 79 degree's.

Per my dual ph meter my ph is 7.5, I have ordered a General Hydroponics GH1514 Ph Control Kit today and it will be here on Monday. Should I wait for it to get here or go ahead and flush it with water to lower it now?????

Also got my 10 Pineapple Kush and 10 Orange Bud today but I am not sure when I will pop any of them.

I am going to try kittypup's cloning method with the cups first I think and see if I can get a clone or two going first...so cross your finger's and toes...LOL. Also i have some Fox Farm soil for the cloning but I need to know if I should fix some perlite with it and if so how much.

If your going to use liquid nutes General Hydroponics work very well. It's a three part system: Grow http://www.hydroponics.net/i/211810 Flower http://www.hydroponics.net/i/211910 and micro-nutrients http://www.hydroponics.net/i/211710

If you want a really good start to General Hydroponics/General Organics, pick up a GO Box.  It has bottles of:

  • Bio Thrive Grow
  • Bio Root
  • Diamond Black (good starter if you're in soil)
  • Bio Marine (if you're doing hydro)
  • Ca/Mg+ (cal-mag :) )
  • Bio Thrive Bloom
  • Bio Big Bud

Granted, none of them is a full quart - I've had the one box last me two small grows, I'll probably need to replace some of the components soon.  It was about $50 at the hydro store, and the plants just seem to love the crap outta this stuff :)

The go box is too much, start with the basics and add other things if you need them. The more stuff, the harder it is to diagnose problems.

Hey Knotspeed88. I was looking at your plant and I thought I saw a slight nute burn. I noticed you using FF OF. That stuff is pretty hot. I learned a lot about soil form following Subcool. From my experience when using soil that hot it is best to only fill your 7 gall pots 1/2 to 3/4 of the way with hot soil on the bottom and the rest with a layer of straight bx promix so that your plants can slowly grow their roots into the ferts. Especially when transplanting young seedlings and clones.  Plus you are growing with cfl and I use HPS which require more nute uptake due to light intensity. With FF if done right you would probably only have to fertilize once with something like bud candy maybe halfway into flower if at all. With strains from Mandala that use low ferts I can run a straight grow watering only with subcool supersoil . You may be experiencing some lockout. I wouldn't fertilize at all if I were you. Plants recover much easier if the are underfed vs overfed. I would only lightly fertilize once with bloom if you see a slight yellowing of bottom leaves but not drooping or curling halfway through bloom. I'm no expert, but this has been my experience.

I started some clones yesterday to see if my thumb has any green in it at all...lol. I am using kittypup's easy peasy cloning method in the red cups. I know that one my be to short as it doesn't look good this morning but I will be happy if any on them make it but will not let it get me down if they don't :)  I am use FFO soil and have ordered some General Hydroponics FloraBloom, FloraMicro & FloraGro. I can't wait until I get away from this MG soil that I am using on my main plant.
