:I agree: You can run two but it would be crowded. I would try a limited scrog for a box like that. http://www.weedguru....hp?f=88&t=27983

Couple updates. Got two 90 degree pvc bends at the bottom on each side for passive intake, hole cut at top where fan will go for exhaust, sealed up all the edges and inside so no leaks. Just waiting on fan to ship. Gonna wire lights tomorrow.

Blue61 says add perlite. Is there a max on that? I read 50% is good for air to the roots. This OK?
I am wanting to do the same as the Sawyer but in a small grow tent.
Learning about LED panels. Is there a general rule for autos? Red, blue, white or combine? Switch blue to red?
I rather like this style but what color?

Re. Afghan Kush Ryder, my experience with it hasn't been great. It's good meds, but there seem to be relatively few bud sites, compared to other autos I've grown. If you do some Googling (as I did), you'll see that others have had similar experiences.

Wired up my fan and learned my adapter is only 4.7v and the fan is 12 lol, it runs like a turd and barely pushes air so I'm going to have to find an adapter with higher output.

Look for a used 12v wall wart, a lot of old electronics used them. Or go to Walmart Radio Shack etc and get universal wall charger.

<p>I ordered one off amazon for a dollar. My fan pushes 75cfm. I'm thinking about buying an inline fan+filter combo but not sure if I will need it. Also was looking at 135w ufo LED grow light for around 100 bucks. Might pick one of those up and use it with less cfls. Not sure yet. Advice on fan would be appreciated because I have no experience in this.

I think I will plan on getting the fan+filter combo, just to be safe. I figure it will work better and longer than a homemade one. 120 bucks is worth not getting busted. Any opinions on adding the led? Worth it? kinda pricey for a light.

Sawyer, I found this website and am super impressed with the information here. A must for newbies like us. Straight to the point on lights and then some. http://www.growweede...e-of-lights#CFL

Yeah, definitely spend the money on the carbon filter. They have manufacturers and stuff that do it for a living. Us DIY guys will inevitably leave a screw loose, or a seal cracked just enough to let the odor seep out. I got a great, HUGE can filter for 80 bucks at my local hydroponics supply store.

I agree PBG, stealth is at the top of my list for this build so I'm definitely going to get one. I need to save my pennies.College tends to take away all your money. GAAAAsmiley.gif
Here's what I was looking to get. http://www.htgsupply...on-Filter-Combo

Do you have any ideas on how to seal the front door of the cabinet? I'm not sure if air coming in through the front will affect the negative pressure or not, but I'm going to have to make it light proof as well which should be fairly simple. I have everything sealed except the front door.

All the effort to go stealth (smell), what happens when you open the door to tend your plants? Do you leave the exhaust fan on?

I will leave the exhaust fan on, and I don't see how I could make it so it wouldn't smell when I open the door, besides maybe putting ona gel outside the door? I don't understand your point. What do you suggest?

Put a little glade stick or pod or something outside the box if you're worried about it when you open the door.

And amen to life being expensive. College, regular life, kids... it all costs too fucking much. lol.

As the plant(s) get bigger there will be more odor, I was thinking it would reek every time the door was opened. I would be taking a risk opening the door, #every time. Seems like in apartments the air leaks straight to the hallways.

Of course you're going to let a lot of smell out whenever you open the door, once the plant's in flower! That's a given.

There's good info. on this site re. ways to help reduce odor outside the tent/grow box, but you'll need to do a bit of searching to find it all. Check the FAQs here (on growing) for starters. Cool? :)

am not in an apartment setting and have a carbon filter but but the plants will smell somewhat when in and out of the tent.
if there are unexpected peeps coming over, (and depending on my level of paranoia) I either fry up some onions (works great) or deliberately burn a bag of popcorn (last resort here since that smell is very had to breathe around) but it helps when you need it.

I've been tweaking my grow for over 2yrs, it never seems to end... so do all you can the first time around and it will save you lots of probs down the road... like $ running out!

lots of helping hands here... we want everyone to succeed!!

Thanks for the good ideas Poetic, sounds like it would work to cover up smell great. I'm not worried about anyone coming over as I don't have any friends here yet haha. My fiance doesn't care about it and my landlord never bothers me. But I will keep that in mind just in case i know someone is coming :) Thanks sand and big. My apartment is actually is in a 4 unit house-type thing (dont know technical term lol), so there is no hallway. I'm just hoping smell wont go up through the ceiling, but I'm hoping I will have odor under control enough to the point where it wont leave my apartment, and it wont be that noticeable inside. I appreciate all the tips, it will be nice to have all this knowledge when I start rather than going in blind and messing something up. So thank you! :peace1:
