Not what I would have liked Pete. My drying techniques need a lot more work. A lot.

I did what most of y'all suggest in the chat and left it sitting on top of my t-5 ballast. Probably about 16 hours or so. Smelled like hay, tasted like hay... gave me a buzz that was nice and mellow. Kind of creeped in. Ended up more like schwaggy ditch weed than something I'm used too. But it rolled up and burned in a joint, so I assume it was dry, I guess. Someone tell me what I did wrong. Cuz I really don't want to be smoking hay weed for the duration of this harvest. Cuz I'm stubborn and still would use it... or bake with it.

All the trim is in a plastic bag in the freezer, waiting to be joined by the rest to go into some butter and to be made into mini oreo topped peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. :)

So could someone tell me exactly what to expect during drying? And by that I mean, like a stage break down in plain english. Like "Okay, day one, its' going to smell this way. Day two, it's going to look and smell that way. By day eight it's going to be like this and smell like that." Just so I don't freak out if it smells weird (like hay) or if things aren't great.

I'm getting pictures in a bit and asking y'all if it's time to chop 'em down before I go ahead and get busy with the chopping.

Tried to get up in there and get a good shot of them to show the way the hairs have changed. Group shots tomorrow. They're nearing their end.

I clipped another test bud and hung it up above my lighting right to dry. Small one. I'm going to let it dry for a few days this time before I get at it.

when she is ready , the new pistils will have all turned colour and the buds will have swollen up, the trics will have gone from clear to cloudy and amber, that's when to harvest. that's when i strip off all the fan leaves and all the large sugar leaves.cut the plant down and hang the whole plant upside down where the air can get at it. once the buds are dry to the touch but not fully dried out I strip the branches of buds and let it dry more on a paper. then i put them in tobbacco cans to cure. hope that helped

Yeah, I went all serial killer up in the garden. But I learned something... my trim work is good, at least I think it is. They look nice.

Unfortunately, I don't think the buds were getting any bigger PB. I watched for a solid 3 weeks and they stayed pretty much the same. The only thing that changed was the hairs were almost all pretty much orange brown now.  And now they're sitting in the tent drying out.  Still.... I'm dancing and I'm popping new seeds tonight. :)

An eight inch main cola is nothing to sneeze at. I can do better. For the record, could someone archive this as completed. I'm going to be starting another journal for the seeds that hit the root riot cubes tonight.
