This is my first grow and I'm pretty excited about it. My setup is a 4' x 4' x 6.5' grow tent, 400 watt ballast with a 400 watt MH conversion bulb and 400 watt HPS bulb. I have a 6" high velocity fan, 6" carbon filter, 6" duct muffler and a 6" inline fan connected to a HEPA filter for my air intake. My temperature is staying at 72-75 degrees and humidity hasn't gone above 47%. A friend of mine who is a caregiver gave me the Blackwater OG Kush clone while I got the Purple Diesel from a local dispensary. I am limited on space so I have to make the 1 tent work for now. Here are some pictures. The Blackwater OG Kush clone was transplanted April 2nd and the Purple Diesel was transplanted April 4th. I will try to do weekly updates as it's hard for me to get to the computer, hence it taking me a few days to post this.

Thank you. One thing I've noticed about the Blackwater is it's a very fast grower. It's already doubled in size nearly since transplant. Hasn't been in the bag for a week yet. Very excited to see where both are at on May 2nd when I flip em to 12/12.

I hope I don't disappoint! (mostly myself)

Good for you jumping right in and getting your grow on! your set up looks phenomenal and glad you have lots of space :)

your first grow imho is the absolutely most exciting one.... imho.. and it just gets better.

Is the new growth coming in yellow or is it the lighting in the pics (my eyes are not the best so I could be wrong)..... and just be careful with the little ones and the twisty tie.. they tend to do damage since it can cut into the young stems. Can try a coated wire (comes in rolls in Home Depot or wherever) and I've also used pipe cleaners but those also (the pipecleaners) can cut into the stems as well, just check to make sure it doesn't do what mine did once ... the main stem ended up growing around the pipecleaners... lesson learned.

Enjoy & have fun with it.... I'll be in the front row passing out popcorn ---> Attached File  Popcorn.jpg   3.07KB   0 downloads

flyingsmiley.gif be well & be medicated!

It's just the lighting making the new growth look yellow. I tried a few different angles and those were the best. As for the twisty ties, I keep them pretty loose on em and every few days I untie and loosen them even more. Eventually I'll get bamboo shoots and twine to tie em up with. Straws and twist ties are all I've got at the moment.. I can be quite resourceful thanks to my fishkeeping hobby lol.

As for my setup, I wanted to do it right or not at all. I want to succeed at it and not get discouraged. Thank you for stopping by, looking forward to sharing more with everyone here.

I missed a picture, was a little medicated when I posted them pictures lol

I actually was able to remove the straw from this one. The intake blows them just enough to move them a bit and it's helped that one strengthen up a lot. The other one I think is just going to grow crooked lol

Thank you first of all. The duct muffler helps a lot. Friend that helped me set up everything doesn't have one and I tell a difference from his to mine. He even commented on it when he was over the other day. Him being a caregiver with some years of experience helps a lot.

Looking a-ok in there, robust even. A didn't know about duct mufflers, and could sorely use one, living in the same room as my tent;) Nice going on the pics and setup

Hooked isn't even the word. I've been reading and doing research for about 4 years now getting ready for this lol.

Thank you. The duct muffler makes a big difference. Can hear the fan, but it's actually calming rather than annoying (it actually helps me fall asleep now). I'll try to post some more updates in about a week and also fix the photos and add them directly to the posts.

What size pots do you usually use? I'm using the 7 gallon grow bags that came with the light combo I bought. Was thinking about asking a friend that works for a landscaping company to grab me varying sizes of pots for different ideas I got for growing.

i use a square pot so it is easier to turn a 1/4 turn , about 3 gallons or so.

I see. Same friend that has helped me so far said he'd try and find me some pots through his work. I'll probably post a couple more pictures here in a little bit before I flip em tomorrow. Just need to wait for lights on.
