Hi Everyone, now that I have passed the introduction test, I get to move on here to a real essay. I am currently in the midst of a grow here. I am obviously am a first time grower. I have a Romulan, Pineapple Kush , Purple Og, Alien OG, and what I like to call Morph 1, (morph two was male, sadly and has met his doom, to the glee of Morph 1). So, all are female to this point, the only question will be whether Morph 1 will go herme on me. If it does, we can use it for balms and oils (Fiona's area). I got it from some bag-seed back in April or so. I don't even remember the stuff, so I am assuming that it must have been kick ass shit. It surely looks like an Indica-dominant strain though, dark green with wide mid length leaves. When she was younger, she had seriously FAT leaves.her little brother was a runt from the git go, had to shuck the dam shell myself after about 5 days of growth, so his first leaves were stunted at first. I am using soil from MG, ( I know, I know, next year will be organic soil). But since I started back in April, I have done two semi flushes, and have only used organic feed on them since. All are in buckets, morph 2 gal, PK & Rom 3 gal, Alien & Pog in 5 gal's. I got a cute little pen outside my bathroom window so I can see them during the day if I want to, and maybe sing to them and stuff. I got a copy of my Rec in a plastic sleeve, with a plaquet stating it is a legal grow, for whatever that is worth. Btw I will be posting pics. I have to sort them by date so you can see the earliest pics. Sorry I don't have any of the Li'l Morph's till later, but both together before the ax fell on 2. Might be easier to do this by list: Romulan- I got this and the PK at the very first collective I went to back when I got my rec for the first time. I was very green, and uh, no pun intended. I am glad it has grown, because the collective has been raided since, and I doubt the feds will give me my $20 back. Okay, seems every time my girls have a problem, it is Rom who starts to show signs first. Thrips, first seen on Rom back in June. Little Mother Hoppers, we knocked them out with Ed Rosenthal's follier spray mix, and keep them at the realms with SNS. Leaf miners- not sure what kind. However, when I was looking for hairs on one of them, I saw a little black bug with a yellow mid stripe going cross ways, covering about 1/3 of it's body. So we have treated it twice with Monterey's spray stuff, and it has seemed to work. I seen damage the first two days after the first treatment, but nothing since, I am keeping my fingers crossed. The good thing is, IMHO, that these defenses should also be good for most other things I might find. None of the pests ever got past the first few leaves of damage, before we were all over their raggity butts. I also saw first on the Rom, when my soil was getting un-nutrified, she started turning a lighter shade, was probably stressed to from the bugs. but she got some carbs now and she is getting her color back. She always seems so happy through out it all, she is always reaching for the sky. I am gonna get some sleep now. I will post a few pics in the AM, and Saturday I will post and take a few more. G'Night All. Eek

Good Morning All, 6:30 am- I am up and drinking coffee (which I don't usually do), so that means it is a slow moving morning. My eyes are also fuzzy, you diabetics can relate i am sure. But, I would still be out tending to my girls ifn' my phone was charged (pictures). While waiting I thought I would tell about a few things I missed prior. These are not in order. After I finish I will continue with each strain as I know them, as I was doing before.

On Morph 1, at about 8 inches, I topped her. This was more as an experiment than anything, and she has responded really well with four stalks from that point on that are just ready for colas.

When I noticed un-nutrification, I bought some FF Ocean Forest (along with the carbo load), and topped off all the buckets with as much soil as I could fit into them, without water just draining off the top, and just before that, I used an old fishing pole I rigged up to use as a soil aeriator, poking the soil, being extra careful not to hurt the root system, as best I could. I have to give a shout out to JJ, down at KY supply for the help. I described what I was wanting to do, and he hooked me up, and even put the stuff in the car for me, saving my joints the unnecessary inflamation, and a few bucks as he realized I was on a budget.

I have had a oscillating fan on these ladies since they were old enough to stand it. This has helped create the strongest stalks I have ever seen on such short plants. Well, were short, the last couple of weeks they are really building up, and getting taller, I need to add a length of fenciing, and raised the hieght of the chicken wire to accomodate. Anybody have an idea when they might stop growing up, and start filling in? Sac area?

Lastly, I have said this was my first grow, and this is a true statement. However, I have been around others, and have seen many grows. So I do have some frame of reference. I was 14 years old and going to school at Santa Rosa High school in 1978 when I first caught a glimpse of what we called "Green bud," and first saw growing buds. Everything before that was columbian, and such. The green bud had little red hairs, not many, not like today, and if you consumed some that had been cured properly, you were lucky. Everybody was new to growing then. Its funny, back then what we refered to as homegrown, was a bad thing. Then by the time I left high school, I had smoked some Hawian weed, Thai stick, and Panama Red, amongst others. This was the era of exponential booming of the marijuana industry, and it's potency. Ahh the 80's, not just the decade of really bad one hit wonders in music, but the globalization of the pot industry.

Back to descriptions as I know them...

Pineapple Kush, as I stated before was obtained at the first co-op I joined. When I dreamed of pineapple kush that night, it was like Homer Simpson drooling over donuts. I am very interested in fruity medicine. I believe that indica's are not as flavorful, but give me the desired joint pain relief better than sativa's. So I liked the idea of smoking pineapples, that has an indica kick. She is pest resistant, as this and Morph 1, didn't seem to get infested like the others. I am gonna let this girl go long so she does all she can for me. She has always been my bushiest plant. And until recently, my tallest. I think she will end up being one of the best ones, being how I am anticipating her so much.

Morph 1- I know I mentioned it before, but she is doing really well, she is one of the ones that is getting taller in the last few weeks, rivaling PK in height now. I am interested in what she will turn out to be? I will keep a real close on her for hermaphrodite signs. She seems somewhat pest resistant, as much as the PK is anyway. And I have to say, I have an affinity towards her because she was the only one I have now that was grown from seed. All the other girls are clones I obtained.

Alien OG- HUGE leaves, wide and long, I nick named her droopy. She is NOT a morning person, she tends to droop in the cool delta breeze of the evenings, and night time around here. Only when the sun hits her does she show signs of perking up. If she gets some follier spray on her, she will also perk up a bit, but the sun is her coffee. I got her from another co-op I belong to. I had no idea what an alien og was, but it sounded cool. I got her with POG, and I suspect that the thrips may have come from these two. I am not pointing any fingers or anything, just sayin'... I would like to point out one thing here. Does anyone come across menu's of collectives online, and see something like under the "INDICA" list you will see maybe Black Cherry Soda. Then on a different site it will be under the "SATIVA" list. This does not help me. Anyway she is supposedly a sativa dominant hybrid. So I will treat her as such.
Purple OG- He he he! Mother nature surely has a sense of humor. This girl was the runt, and still is the smallest one I have. She has had small leaves all her life, but many of them, more than the rest. The funny part is, she is blooming like no other one I have. Where the other's are just starting to form the beginnings of buds, she has some formed, coming together, hairs all over them, and is living life to the fullest at this point. She is surely gloating to all the others of her great performance. There is no color on her yet, but she is just a beautiful plant.

Okay, gonna tend to the ladies, take some pics, and post everything I have so far.

Hi again folks. So I didn't get done all I wanted to get done yesterday. I had to make a trip to Shasta County so I didn't get all my pictures sorted. When I got home last night I was too tired to deal. But when It comes to me, insomnia reigns supreme. So I am back at it this morning. First, Romulan

Okay so now you all have current pics. If I said anything about pics and didn't produce, I apologize. I have some things to talk about and was hoping for some feedback. The Romulan is very skinny like, and IMHO think that as it matures, it is gonna basically be just one cola, If I pulled her down to the side horizontal, will that get me more yeild? I told myself, and anyone who would listen (Fiona), that I was gonna go "Au Natural" for the first grow. However, listing the plant is not really altering, or creating anything totally unnatural, and I am flexible. I also topped Morph, so that is not on plan either. I am wishy washy. Also, with fresh ff ocean forest, and carbo load, at this point in my grow would there be anything else I should be adding. Now don't be coming at me with "hey, I put battery acid in the water once" kind of advice. I need solid info. If I get too much variation, I will be confused. So if I need something. tell me why first, and then what you would reccomend please. I also understand that I have a few leaves that have yellowed, but since I started the new feed, they are going away. Well, except the few of them that cannot recover, hence the yellow. I have heard that a good rule of thumb is an ounce of dry yield, per gallon of soil, when using planters. Does this coinside with everything you all may have heard? Security measures. So about 6 months ago, my boat motor was stolen out of my front yard, right off of my boat. A few weeks ago, my next door neighbors four wheel hunting golf cart thingy, on a trailer, was stolen in the night, in his front yard. He had it loaded and was ready to leave the next morning. So I am paranoid about thieves. We have a rotwieller, and just her being here, and being seen is the best deterrent. But she sleeps in the house, and lets face it, her watchdog days are waning. If you had a toy to throw to her, you could take what you wanted. Actually, she does her job, but she can't do it at night. So I have a few ideas. I found a carpet mat sensor alarm, that would chime when someone steps on it. Also, a stobe light flashing and alarm that is motion detecting. Plus, I have a couple of old surveilance cameras that don't work, but could be a good dummy defense. Being right outside my bathroom (which is attached to our master bedroom), you would think that would be good. However, someone could do enough damage to the girls before I was able to get out there. Please don't mention using a gun, that won't ever be an option. I am not gonna ruin lives over a grow. I am gonna go and take the black cloth off the fencing of the cage. As I mentioned before, I have the crop right outside my bathroom window. The bathroom is also my smoking room. I have a fan in the window, and is open all the time. I didn't want any light to get to them at night, so put up a black sheet of weed netting over the cage. eliminating residual light. Well folks, I have to do SOME other things than writing here. Have a good day, and I can't wait to see anything new that has been posted when I do this later. Eek

Okay, this is getting crazy. It now appears that I have spider mites. We have just started to see signs on two. We have already started treating them with soap water. Then we will hit them hard this weekend. I will update everything Saturday morning.

The Cannabis Trail - Don't miss out on all the thrilling adventures Of MasterEek, Fiona and all thier little stars. Featuring Rom, PK, Pog, Alien, and Morph 1 in all thier innocent curiosity. As I posted the other day. Fiona found some damage on the plants around Tuesday. So she treated with soap tobacco, water on Thursday as well as spraying them with Isopropyl alcohol water. Also with a vigorous vacuming from the handy vac, she has so far quelled the onslaught of the "Borg." I am gonna pick up some SNS 217 today, also, because my vegetable garden is in close proximity to the pen where the girls romp and play all day, I am gonna pick up one of those "attach to the garden hose" spays for them as well. Safer brand has some I will check out. Also, I will ask JJ at KY Supply his opinion of course. Okay, PK is not looking to well. Has anyone heard of damage from tobacco juice? The leaves have some brown juice on them I thinnk from the tobacco solution. Can these oils smother the plant? She HAS grown four inches since last Saturday. They haven't been in the sun since treatment, but will probably go back tomorrow (its' been really warm here). So from what I observe, some PK's leaves seem a little skinnier than before. I was thinking maybe this could happen as it is beginning to accelerate into flowering? The juice is seemingly on the edges of the plant, like sunburn, but , when looking closely, they only seem to be colored. and not damaged, the edges around the leaf look healthy with a good coat of juice on them. So far, Thrips have been eliminated, Leaf miners have been eliminated, and the Borg has been quelled. I also think I should prepare for everything else bein's how I seem to be goin for the record of infestations. I want to make a tea from the FF OF soil. Has anyone ever done this? I think it would be a good way to add some "all purpose" nutrient, but not a huge influx of them.

Good Morning Everyone!
I thought I would give an update with my grow. I am also gonna post about 60 pics, of which I posted about 8 of in the gallery section of this site yesterday. All in all I think the grow is going pretty well considering all that has happened to my babies. The Pineapple Kush (PK) is not doing so well since the tobacco juice spray. There is damage to some of the others, but not like PK, who seems to have been hit by a tobacco hammer blow. When I last reported, the leaves were vibrant, but discolored. Well, everywhere there was discoloration, they are now burn't. around the edges. She is still not shocked though. She has grown about 7 inches in two weeks, and has finally gone into flower. I have read that I can expect a little delay in harvest due to stress. I will keep a close eye out, for hermy-ism. I am putting up pic's of the damage as well.

I had a mini harvest. I took a little nug from the Pog, and Droopy (Alien OG), the two that are flowering like crazy, and started to cure them. I figure about four-5 days in an out of a jar, and I should be able to smoke them. I will let you know how that goes.
The Romulan has really started to bush out, I am not going to list it horizontally as I was pondering earlier. As it is budding, it is getting bushier. I may have to harvest the top part of the plant first on it though, we will see.

This has all been really exciting for me! I don't have much of a green thumb, but our veggie garden has done well and I can't wait to make more NN oil and root balm. :fly: I feel bad about the tobacco juice damage to PK and Pog...We have used tobacco juice twice, first in the soil because of the thrips and then for the spider mites. Both times helped get rid of the bugs, but hurt the girls. I will NEVER use tobacco juice again! :I am sorry: Thanks to this site, we have learned lots and are thinking of things to do next year. I found it interesting that we didn't have a bug problem with the veggie garden. Just a few aphids, taken care of with simple soap water. Got lots of zucchini, yellow squash and eggplants...YUMMMMMM. Our tomatos were slow ripening but now we get 5 to 6 per day! Double Yummm! iconchef.gif Fiona

If the PE is starting to flower some of that on the leaves maybe it wanting more p & k. I would buy some compost for making tea.It will work better then just the FF OF. I have an Ace of Spades that is Black Cherry Soda dominant and if yours is anything like that you will enjoy the smoke. Peace, Blue

Good Day Everyone I thought I would update everyone who want to know. The Pineapple Kush is recovering, and going into flower. She is kind of meager at this point, but has grown a few more inches since last week. If she bushes up, then she should still make it through okay. I have taken some advice and added some organic blooming nutrients yesterday.

On Frosty and Droopy I figure I have about two to three weeks before I flush. I have my handy dandy microscope (amazon, $6.99 f/s), and I can see all the little trichomes, which are clear for now. The buds are filling out really well. Romulan is really starting to flower like crazy. It is looking more like a three foot bud everyday. There is hardly any branching at all. It is about a foot wide, all the way up. Morph is just starting to flower. She must be a late bloomer, because she is as healthy as an ox. Of all the girls, she has been the most vibrant, stress, and pest resistant of all of them. She has a very clean and textbook look to her. At Three foot tall, she has outgrown my 2 gallon pot expectation of her. Not too long now. I can smell them everyday. They are losing their general "skunky" smell, and getting more of a sweeter and individual type smell to each of them. I smoked the two little nugs I harvested last week. I weighed them on my new handy dandy pocket scale (5.99 amazon f/s), and they came to .02g. I got about 5 pulls off of my bong from them. Picked early, they were definitely a sativa affect, but not too strong, and lasted about a half hour. I am very encouraged by their potential. They tasted like crap. Of course I didn't cure them properly, two days hanging, with light, then into a jar for five days, burpin' everyday. But, I know when they are mature they will be fine. Okay everyone. I will post pictures next week. I an skipping a week so we can all compare better (or I am being lazy).

Hi and Good Morning everyone!
I thought I would update you all on my grow. I wanted to say to everyone that I now understand why people don't always finish thier grow journals. I think it is because they don't get a lot of feed back. I personally thought I would more than I am. I will finish this regardless, somebody might find my experiences useful. Of course I will be posting pic's. I am really excited about my girls. It looks like I will be harvesting in stages. I have been monitoring thier progress, and Droopy (Alien OG) along with Pog (purple OG) will be first, followed by Romulan, then Morph and PK after that.
These first pic's are of Rom.

These next pictures are of Pog. She is gettin' real frosty. The pistils are turning red and the trichomes are fully formed and milky white. Very close to prime stock here. She is on a flushing regimen for the rest of her days.
