Trimmed the large fan leaves today. Head-space is tight so bent the tops. Must find a way to cool the plants. Water cooling is the choice. Picking up a heat exchanger before the hot weather hits. Their grow closet is 1.2M X 1.2M X 1.3M high. One NexGen with Digilux 400W HPS. Seem to be in good health overall. Won't be high yield, but with the constrained space and energy budget, they are doing a good job. There are two more coming in behind these. Should give a steady yield of meds. Still only get to see them on weekends.

Anticipation (is makin' me wait) Carly Simon. Yes, the buds are burstin' and the trichs are fully formed. Some amber coming in now. Just about 1-2 weeks left. Changing to final flush water now. Keeping them cool with an occasional "rain" of light foliar. Further to this grow - My Uncle has Parkinsons. He and his wife finally overcame the "Stygma" - not bad for octogenarians! They want me to get them a month supply of Canna-Caps to try out. Anyone "listening" had any luck with Canna-Caps for Parkinsons? (dried, ground cannabis put into veg capsules). Any wisdom and experience to share is appreciated. If satisfied, then they go for a card. Their doctor would not previously support him with an application. Doc told him "just tough it out!". Offered him debilitating pharmaceuticals which he turned down because of cost and side effects. They will need a new doctor. Looks like I may be helping another great couple with their first grow. I am so glad to be free of the prejudices myself - or I would be missing out on all this fun and "miracles".

One more week to harvest. These kiddies are near ripe. Color is coming into their "cheeks" now. Nute flush is going well - only a few leaves yellowing and they will come off this weekend. The "parents" are proud of their harvest. Another batch is started. Success breeds ....... well more growing. dancinggirl.gif

HARVEST 1 Pound (US) before drying. Drying now. Know we know why it is called a "labor of love". You have to check the costs XLS attached. It raises a concern as to our tolerance of "compassion" over desire. Providence provided the plant for free. Are we really any better than Pharma if we capitalize on the need of others? $220 to $300 or more an ounce? $12/gram? Makes one want to weep.

Very gooey. I'm impressed with the Critical +. They produced on schedule with good looking flowers. Nice reward for that couple's first. The economics demonstrated well. There are a lot of rumors around about how expensive hydro is. Since they kept "count", the numbers prove that even someone on a very tight budget can grow their own medicine. The yield could have been a little higher with more light, more time with foliars etc. But 16 ounces (1 pound) is not bad. Their "grow room" measures 4ft X 4ft square X 5.5ft tall. Just right for 400-600W (they run 400W). Can accommodate up to 4 mature plants. Set up for DWC Bubble Buckets. The way they are set up they invested only around 2 hours per week to tend the "little flock". They are not home much, so there were days where the plants simply bubbled by themselves with no one to watch over them.. Economic Stats: Seeds = $18 Electricity = $88.70 Nutrients, water et al: = $75.00 Total Cost: = $181.70 YIELD @ HARVEST 2 plants 16.00 ounces COST PER OUNCE = $11.36 COST PER GRAM = $0.40 Grow Time: = 16 weeks start to finish Investment per week = $11.36 That's as close to FREE medicine as one can get! Success breeds more growing. The next plants are in the works.
