Taking clones from a flowering plant CAN be done, but I highly recommend against it unless you just HAVE to somehow keep the strain. If you do, get ready for a project. The cutting is going to have to not only root but also revert back into vegetative growing. Whenever I've done this the base of the plant got all messed up and I ended up not getting a viable plant that I wanted to flower. Some guys have said you can grow this cutting out and then take a cutting from that plant and get a healthy clone. Again. Big project. Much, much easier to take a clone from a plant vegging up to flowering 10 days or so. Once you have buds forming, it gets ugly.
