Welcome bigsmileythumbsup I'm new here, so I'll introduce myself by compiling a bit of what I have been up to. As well, I am always open to critique or even off-topic banter. Make yourself at home!

Included will be:

  • Side by side experiments documented in detail.
  • Lessons learned - Tutorials, tips, and instruction
  • Advanced cultivation conversation

I am mainly a soil grower but I enjoy experimenting with Hydro/DWC.

For these plants, I feed with nothing but my tea concentrate for the first few weeks of flower and water from thereon forth. They absolutely love it.

Here's my recipe! (I am not doin

Smoke's 'home-made' super-tea concentrate for bulking and fruiting

Ingredients:
  • Unsulfured Molasses [5$] - 1 Cup
  • Advance Nutrients Mother Earth Super Tea (Bloom Formula) [25$ for 1 liter] - 2 Cups
  • Humic Acid Derivative (5-7%) [Flavorful or Liquid Karma ~20$] - 1/4 Cup
  • Water - 2 Cups
  • Total cost: 55$ for roughly 5 batches = 11$ per home-made bottle = Cents per feeding = Growing dankest organic flowers at a sensible cost.

Preparation:
  • Grab a sturdy jug larger than one liter. The one I use is two liters.
  • Pour 2 cups Mother Earth Super Tea, and 1/4 cup Humic Acid Derivative (Liquid Karma or Humbdoldt's Flavorful) in to your container.
  • Bring two cups of water to a boil in a pot over the stove.
  • Once the water is boiling, move pot off of the hot coils, and stir in 1 cup Unsulfured Molasses.
  • Stir the thinned molasses until completely mixed and allow a few minutes to cool.
  • Mix thinned molasses in to container and mix thoroughly.
  • Store somewhere dark and cool.

Molasses Tea Super-Food Concentrate Application rates:
  • Soil: Mix 1-2 TBS (15-30ml) per gallon and feed according to strength of your medium. Don't PH if using tap water from 7-7.5
  • Hydro: Mix 1 TBS (15ml) per gallon in to nutrient solution and run as needed.
  • Shake well - In soil, alternate with feedings of plain water for the first few weeks of flower - Completely organic. Safe for all stages of plant growth
This should make a very very light tea when applied at the directed rates. Will not bubble in hydro if applied at my rates. If you aren't using super soil, this stuff is great to feed your medium for the initial stages of flower.

This is a pretty great way to feed your root-zone army a decent bit of molasses without gunking up your system. No more slime in hydro, and all the great molasses goodness. The MEST is a great food source as well, and works as a great buffer for the molasses. This makes a really good standalone food supplement and medium stimulant for early flower in soil.

Note- My feeding rates are very light. Less is more.

Thanks for stopping in! I have a few good write-ups I'll put down here soon.

PS-

I got some seeds from Oregon, which is back home for me... I'm a bit skeptical and looking for an outside opinion.

Thanks for the kind words. See you around!

Haha, yeah. Almost like a shot in the foot? What great way to have a bunch of your genetics being passed off as something else.

So I know that most of you guys are veterans- I always like to piece a small tutorial together when something works really well for me. Here's one of my photo write-ups for cheap personal cloning. Rudimentary growing stuff- Not trying to step on any seasoned toes! Just hoping someone somewhere benefits somewhere down the line. If you would like me to post this stuff elsewhere and not here then let me know!

Cloning for Personal Use with Smoke - 100% Effective and Inexpensive

Here is how I take up to 100 possible personal clones per month with 100% success.

Here is what you will need:
  • Rapid Rooters and tray with a high humidity dome
  • Seedling mat
  • Clonex
  • Distilled water
  • Party cups, potting soil, and perlite
  • OPTIONAL: Great White / Liquid Karma

I prepare my rapid rooters by soaking them in tap water with a bit of Great White and Liquid Karma. This isn't necessary, but I have great success in doing so. It is important to soak your plugs prior to taking the cut.

I'm not going to explain how to take the cutting and dip it in to clonex any further than take the cutting and dip it in to clonex.

Initial Note: Take LARGE cuttings for personal use!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Tray set-up:

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Keep the humidity at 100% by keeping a small amount of distilled water in the bottom of the tray. Mist once or twice per day, but the seedling mat will take care of most the work. ------ Check the roots in 5 days ------ You will notice a swelling in the main stem near the bottom of the cutting

I really hate to bash anyone, but I can't keep my mouth shut on this one.

I'm in Oregon and I know plenty. Having many friends that have grown out StoneyGirl's genetics has kept me from making the same mistake. I won't let them past my front door. She is a great shmoozer with a story that melts your heart and High Times Magazine loves her, and her advertising dollars. She is, however, becoming famous in Oregon for outlandish claims and weak genetics. Her strains are known to hermie easily and her flower times are well.... way off unless you have a special liking for clear trichomes. Everyone I know removed her strains from their gardens due to hermie. The weak gene appears to originate with her signature "Pitbull" strain - which (coincidentally?) most of her other stuff has been crossed with.

So yeah there ya have it. Weak genetics... misrepresented flower times and THC content, average potency. The potency on the Pitbull strain is pretty good but, yeah... it's too risky.

Like your style Smoke! Going to be interesting to follow your journal.

Oregon here also, and Stoney Girl is full of herself. I have grown the

Pit Bull indoors with no problems, but her finish time certainly not what

she claims. Have PB outdoors now, and she is way behind my Shishkaberry.

I have heard all kinds of nasty things about it her, but it's all secondhand,

and the PB is great for migraines.

Good luck with your grow!!!

Haha ditto that!
It wasn't easy (at all), but I tried really hard to not make my response too personal against StoneyGirl herself, and keep it aimed at the genetics that she sells. LOL

Seeds! Seedlings! Who doesn't love them? Way better than collecting baseball cards. TCurtiss was nice enough to shoot me some Space Madness seeds at the CanCup this year. I had room for two so I cracked them immediately. Great, strong, healthy babies! One seems a bit chunkier with rounded leaves, while the other is bit more spired. I definitely like the sharp clean tapering on SM#2.

nice wee pooch there Smoke

love da pics m8 scrummy nugs pity it didn't turn out as good as you expected

next time weeins are looking grand

the nugs are very scrummy! I'm sure if I was to run BD a few more times I could dial her in. That particular batch was an attempt at organic DWC which at times put me out of my comfort zone- Took me a bit to fine tune the micro herd and blue dream is a bit finicky when things get jammin' - Thanks for the encouraging words :cigar:

Sometimes you have to snap a few night shots right when the lights go out :)

Thanks guys - I have a strain which I recently put in flower, and I am pretty intrigued to see how it turns out- I'll upload pics when the stretch stops and petunias start popping :kittenhugs: The strain is Deep Congo - A Congolese X Deep Chunk cross. I was told that she packs on the stench of a pile of rotting fruits, although she can get a bit leafy. We'll see! Next up for flower - I recently topped and have been training the following plants which have been vegging for a bit over two weeks now- Personal clones from my mothers 4x Chernobyl 1x Island Sweet Skunk 4X Hawaiian Snow
