help me please asap

well i have a big problem went to change my rez and i got half my roots are fallin of thge plant there are these lil black flying bugs every where in my water and on the roots,what can i possibly do? i have these bang from htg is it safe to spray the roots with this stuff or possibly put it in the res?thanks

the roots was white now there like a brownish tan one is real bad though almost black at the top

okay, what happened here... did you rip half of your plants root ball off or what?!?

the black flies are mostly fruit flies, there are several ways to kill em: fly paper, hormone traps, spray (but most aren't save for plants or their roots), tobacco tea, neem oil (i haven't tried this one personally but it is many organic and safe bug sprays and used by several other growers i would consider experienced enough to know)

yeah all the dead roots i have tried to pull off so now they look horrible,they look like gnats or something its bad in fact i am debateing on trashing the whole grow and starting over again when i get some hydro guard

well i added 1 1/2 cups of h2o2 to the rez and nothing else to see what happens i am ordering hydroguard and gognats right now thanks yall

I dont know much about hydro, but I do use a organic spray, I would try that or neam oil. Or if you are just going to call it quits on this crop why not get some killer soil treat it and put them there? You never know. Man your situation sux, I am so sorry to hear about it. I hate little flys!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks pj i am only 3 weeks into it sooooo it suxs bad i am depressed now,i will order more seeds this week too i'm have learned from my mistakes

dude, you know that is normal that the root in the water turn brownish in hydro bubbler boxes?! you know that one, or?

a slight nute decency but besides that they are okay by all what i can tell. the roots look fine. they maybe a bit low on Mg, say this due to the little brown spots on the leaves, so check this

I added calmag over the last week because I knew their was a problem. I noticed the gnats on the roots today when I went to change the res.

the only thing i come up with right now is neam oil and sticky paper... pm roseman, he is more of a hydro/bubbler freak then i am, shaman could know a trick too. see if you can get a hold of one of them

I have never seen such thing as flys/Gnats under water..
What are these plants growing in R.Wool or P.Pellets??

rock wool and hydroton rocks the gnats was on the roots,the part that was between the water and the bottom of the basket,the planet it self hasnt grown much at all in a week or so now

Ya need some bacilluc...er...mosquito dunks/Gnatrol and some yellow sticky traps.

If you can find ther Gnatrol..put it in the res at the rec dosage. Chances are you'll not see that product readily..but it might be wise to order some for the future (EVERYONE!) because these fuggin flies are prevelant and always seem to show up.

What you MIGHT find...at Home Depot or a nursery..or maybe a feed/grain/farm store (or online) are the mosquito dunks that look like little doughnuts (don't east these or the urinal cakes!). If you put 2 of these in a sock or panty hose and drop it in your res the gnats will start dying as they ingest the baccilus...eggs/larvae first...and the sticky traps will get the fying beeee-atches above.

DON'T trash yer gro. Try these first. And for the time being..mix up 50/50 water and isoprophyll alcohol and go have some TARGET practice with a sprayer and any flying sonsabee-atches you see wingin it in the room... but get these dunks PRONTO and all will be well in a bit.

thanks everyone i live by htg so i am going there on tuesday i have declared war on them flying pest,funny i was at htg the other day looking at that very stuff and didnt buy it cuz i really havent seen any till i open the rez up i bought the bang instead
