cuttings questions
hi every1, i got a few questions here... if i were to take a cutting, (say i cut an 8 inch branch in half) , what would happen to the bottom half of it ?? would i be able to take several off one branch ?
also any extra information on the homemade bubble cloners im sure most have seen, would be very helpful. i have just made one myself and would just like a surefire way of good results while using it, as i have seen alot of contradicting threads everywhere, so if someone who has used one befor can give me info i'l kno what to listen to ....
i've never been a part of a site like this so someone to listen to and follow would be brilliant
thanks for your time look forward to hearing from you .......

Welcome to GP nice to have you. On the main page there are two FAQs in red. Check them out first. growfaq and here Drugs-Forum - Cannabis cultivation: Overgrow's GrowFAQ
I don't do much cloning so one of the other mods or a member should stop in to give you the help you need. If you haven't got an answer PM me and I will send out the alert. New growth branches are the one you want no woody stuff. I know that.

Raft Rooter
Randy, look here. Lots of good info in this thread and it explains it well. It is in the first post. Also, many posts on how to cut clones on the site and in the grow FAQ's on the home page.
Peace

Welcome! Glad you decided to join us. Enjoy! I personally try to take clones from the bottom of the plants. This stuff dies anyway if it cant get enough light. I dont cut any branches though. You try and cut so new growth will replace what you cut off, unless you are removing from the bottom! Do like wb456 suggested and check out the FAQs first. Then give a shout back if you dont get it. Enjoy the site. Peace Out!

A friend of mine has just been given 12 white widow cuttings .... what a gift haha . anyway he's too paranoid to join up and share his fortunes so i offered to find out some info for him in return for a friendly parting of his fruits lol.
so 12 widows freshly rooted in jiffy cubes he has a 250 watt metal halide in a nice wardrobe setup.. (he'd send pics in but again too paranoid)..... are they ready to put under the light and if so, at what distance ? i kno this information can be found allover but i wanna get to kno people at this stage, and i like to write. i've probably studied it so much i could tell you most things like i told him to put them under at about 12-15 inches with a small fan and for the first few days gauge and adapt to its reactions. haha ive just answered my queston..
(you all kno why i'm talking crap) <<<<TOKIN

That raft roooter is the ticket to successful cloning.
You can get several clones from a 4" stalk(everywhere you see a new leaf tip sprouting from inbetween the stalk and fan leaf is a clone)but to use the raft rooter you need at least 1" of stalk below float.
Peace

That pretty much covers it.
Unless you are using the raft rooter, then use this example and add to the length making it long enough to extend 1" below float(you can use foam EGG carton top or foam meat tray from the grocery store as a thin float)if a node is below the float just trim it back and coat with hormone(I cut diagonally behind the nodes, exposing the stem behind it)
Peace
