Default Let go of the fruit you monkey!

A friend of mine told me this old story when I was having a particularly hard time...

There is a trick for catching monkeys. A piece of fruit is placed in a heavy vase..the neck of this vase is just large enough for the fruit to fit in and has a long neck and a wide bottom.

When a monkey comes upon the vase they smell the nice fruit and investigate. They stick their arm in and grap the fruit, but are unable to pull it out because of the size of the opening...

They are so greedy for the fruit they keep pulling and refuse to let go...and so can be easily come up upon and caught

And so I have found this often true...most problems are of my own creation and I can simply let go of them if I can let go of my attachment to the problem...

try it sometime...I hope it brings some peace

Start by cutting a 4' hole in the ice, open a can of peas and lay out the peas around the hole.when the Polar Bear comes up to take a pea, push him into hole. When he sticks his head out the hole you get him.

The moral of this story is "Always be aware of your surroundings while taking a pea."

I try to put things that bother me and I try to "fix" that really just can't be, in a box, I visualize a high shelf, and put the box on the shelf. Then I raise the shelf. I can't reach it anymore cause it is in my higher powers hands.

Peace

LOL! I've got a creek, but sometimes it is only 4 inches deep. Others it comes right up to the road!

Ha.. that was pretty damn funny when you read the whole thread from start to end for the first time.

For the record, I would probably do the same..
