water cure smoke report
I water cured (according to vidman's posts) a small portion of my mazar crop just to give it a try
the budz shrink alot compared to traditional cure
the budz are darker than traditional cure
the budz are ready faster than traditional cure
the budz have hardly any aroma
the smoke is SMOOTH SMOOTH SMOOTH
I cough easy as does my wife....big jay, big hits, and no coughing at all...
I would recommend this to anyone that
1. needs to cure weed that was not flushed/leached or may have any water soluable junk of any kind on it.
2. whants to keep post harvest storage smells to a minimum
3. needs a super smooth smoke
Give it a try if you have any of those needs or just to see for yourself what you think...again the key word is....SMOOTH

Scott06, I'm glad that you liked the water cure method. It amazes me how much controversy this method gathers. Theres no valid reason for it either.
Like grandpa use to say, theres more than one way to skin a cat sonny!

SMOOTH. Right on, man, I have always heard that, that's what everyone says. Did you lose much weight with it?
I think that's why it gets a little bit of controversy. Not sure.
Peace

I don't know about weight .....I don't have a scale .....but it did loose alot of size
'course what you loose is stuff that you don't want
obviously not for a comercial grower

Right on. Was it a significant loss? I mean, I smoke everyday, but I do it in a very conservative way.
I can't 'produce' my own right now, so I have to be careful that I don't run out, lol.

yeah, I've tried , I enjoyed it but.. I enjoy my taste too much to let it go too. I like the method but it only has a good result on some strains. I used it on my purple nlx and it was great, but as soon as I tried with the jock it litterally tasted of stale smoke. I know that different terpines in the buds are responsible for each individual taste, well isn't it possible that some are water soluble and some are not? It would account for varying results if the water left some of the bad tastes in there because it wasn't water soluble.

the reduction in size is significant as much as 1/3 to 1/2 the size of traditional cure
but remember it is the same potency as a larger bud so unless you just enjoy smokin' for its own sake you should get just as high with less pot...I did!

excellent hypothesis on the turpines....there soluability must vary at least to some degree....certainly no one would want to use it on a strain they picked for the armoma....or if you just like the aroma...I love the aroma but my wife dislikes it....and we like to keep the smell on the down low with some visitors to the house

Oh, ok, right on, I didn't even think about that.
Hmm..it would be nice to know which strains cured well this way, and which ones did not, like kieahtoka pointed out.

I tried it on a small scale with WW, I didn't care for the taste. While not a BAD taste, it reminded me of something I could never nail down. Anyway, it wasn't the MJ taste that I enjoy in my smoke so I haven't tried since.

my BigBud developed a bit weird fruity taste after sitting in a jar for the past 6 month or so since i cured it - has a little of fruity gum and ice tea. just one odd flavor
as i stated earlier, this is rather for strains with no special taste/good taste to them then for those that got gourmet taste.
