Soil grow, 6-7 Strains
Hey there!
This is my second grow now and it is a soil grow, unlike my current bubbelponics grow which can be seen here: http://www.greenpassion.org/showthread.php?t=5352
I got some great deals on some mixed strains of seeds at the toronto pot march and my friend had some he bought that he is having me grow too. The strains featured in this soil grow are listed here.
My Seeds: I bought White Widow x Buddha, Blue Berry x Skunk, Shiskaberry x Buddha at the march from Toronto420 seedbank, and planted two of each in case of males. I was handed a card with a free unknown seed in it at the march from the canadian seed exchange so I planted it in the ground. I also found seeds in a couple buds this month, one in juicy fruit that looked really immature and I have my doubts about, and the other is from the purps which wasn't dark but its was white and getting closer to mature, so hopefully I'll get lucky cuz it was dank bud (crossing fingers)!
Friends seeds: Northern Lights x Buddha (from toronto420 seed)
Northern Lights x Buddha, White Widow x Buddha, Blue Berry x Skunk, Shiskaberry x Buddha can all be seen from where they were purchased here at toronto420 seedbank: http://www.happygirl.ca/tsb_Indica_Sativa_Seeds_Catalogue.htm this has the descriptions and pics of all of them on it.
My friend and I put the seeds in water yesterday and let them soak a bit before we planted them. This is officially day 2 of the grow, they were planted last night, you're all probably gonna have to just come back to this one :-P.

Well for one thing doing soil is doing something different this time around as my current grow that is going in my flowering room now is my bubbleponics system. I am really excited to see the difference in taste, and growing performance with the different growing mediums. Also the fact that I am doing soil really allows me more freedom and access with my plants to move them around the grow area so I can move the smaller plants towards the middle to get more light and the larger plants towards the outside, which I can't do with my bubbleponics because everything is already set in place. Finally this time around I will be taking clones of all of these and planting them in another outdoor guerilla garden I am going to do with my best friend. I'm pretty excited to see what we can make of this !

Yeah I myself had some trouble choosing spots as I am not originally from ontario, I'm from colorado and am used to just walking out to the mountains for this kind of a thing :-P. But luckily he has a place we found in some good forrested area he knows and we are gonna try to set up a small grow there. We have not scouted the area but I actually believe we may be making our first trip to do so tomorrow so maybe I will bring updates on that! Do you have a grow up currently or are you gonna post your upcoming one? Let me know!

yeah i have two 'operations' at the mo
one is a breeding stock/pollen collection from some real hearty WW
my other grow is in the seedling stage 4xWW (fem) 8xbubalicious when these get to a nice size they will be taken to the bush and planted.
its a bummer ive had outdoor plants befor but now im in a place that i cant really have them in my yard so its guerilla style now
ill be sure to post pics and stuff once my babys are strong. there two weeks into veg so not long...

Me and my buddy went out and dropped some seeds in the ground in a nice forrested area off of some peoples farmland here. The forest around the area is huge and we dropped about 10 seeds in the ground, the climate is so tempurate and wet here that we dont even need to go back to the site, the soil by the ground is really wet already and then we set up a system of 2 liter plastic bottles with small holes to slowly drain onto our planting spots to keep them wet for a couple weeks, and covered them with mud and grass around the area to keep them discreet. We planted 11 more seeds so were crossing our fingers for a big patch, and I myself am thinking about investing in another 10 seeds and going out and making a second patch of "Swiss Bliss" somewhere else in the forest our next visit to our first patch. My friends cam was out so I have nothing to show but next time will have pics in abundance. The current soil grow still hasn't sprouted, any day now :-P.

Hey guys, like I said this is my first time growing in soil so I just have some questions about what kinds of fertilizers people like to use, and when you start using them as in how big the plant should be before I stop watering them with just water. Drop me an idea of what nutrients you use for what and when you use them at what point in the grow so I can figure out what I need to get for this and the next coming months, thanks!

Read the growfaq for a lot of that stuff. You don't have to feed them for the first couple of weeks and if you read around by then you will figure it out. Look up Shamans and videomans grows and you will know better what to feed them outside. I have a crowded room right about now and am getting ready to take the bulk outside and plant in the woods near us after may 24th. Hopefully it will be warmer soon. I would like to see what you have. Good luck!

My plants outdoors are not nearby me and I will not be able to tend them, they are patches I am leaving in the forest with hidden irrigation in water bottles and they are pretty much just gonna have to survive off the nutrients around, the interest in soil fertilizers and such is for the indoor soil grow here.

for fertalizers or nuits, i like to go a organic liquid variety, makes it easy to mix with water and really available for the plants.
really it comes down to what you can get your hands on easly. did you have something in mind?

Definitely wanna go with something organic for this grow since it is already in soil and my other hydro grow is so opposite of organic :-P. I can pretty much go anywhere in toronto for nutrients, I assume I won't have to search so much for a hydro store to find the appropriate nutrients like I have to do for my other grow, but what kind of store should I look at to go to for nutrients? Places like Home Depot and Canadian Tire are basically just stocked with miracle grow and I am not putting that near my girls. I am thinking about going to toronto hemp company to see what kind of nutrients they have available.

Hey Chronic, my favorite recipe is just mixing your soil with bone meal and super swell bat guano, and some perlite too of course.
Its so simple and works so good, its crazy. I got it posted here in a few places, if you need help finding it, that is if your interested, I'll dig it up for ya.
Lemme know.
Peace

if your after stuff that is designed for plants then your best bet is to get to a hydro store or nursery, that way you get the full range and you know that they cool for plants.
checkout www.canna.com, they do a really cool organic ferts.
