Resouceful Site
Hey folks, this looks like a good site. I've had some good soil grows, so I'm interested in the DYI DWC rubbermaid setup. I am a little concerned about moving to hydro, though. Does one always have to control the water temp to keep the oxygen levels up? I am interested in learning... but, is hydo something that needs very close supervision (say, more than once a day)? I have a 600w HPS.
Thanks, and I look forward to spending the next few hours in the FAQ's!

Welcome
Check out the forum jump at the bottom right as well.
Try hrdroponics and then click go.
Or maybe try DIY.

Hey PF,
Welcome to Gp. Most of these folks around here do hydro, so you're in the right place. Just ask and you shall receive. ;+)

Welcome to GP my friend, if you had some successful grows in the past on soil i wouldn't bother myself too long with it anymore - if you don't lack the basics still somehow - but besides this the interesting things for the advanced are going on in the section as DIY, advanced growing, indoor and etc. just use the jumper as midgrade pointed out to

Welcome. the temp of the water has mostly to do with the optimal conditions for roots to thrive in. about room temperature is good. The water gets most of its oxygen from an air stone connected to a pump that is place in the bottom of the reservoir. It creates thousands of tiny little bubbles, which will supply the roots with the oxygen it needs. Without a pump and stone, the roots will rot, as they will be suffocated.

Wow, just got back in town and only now am getting the chance to see the replies, advice, and references. I wish I could send each of you some of my last harvest as thanks (good that I can't, though, since it's probably not as good as you are used to anyway).
Seriously, I appreciate the help very much and look forward to learning on this site. Happy growing.
