Hello all, I'm not sure who keeps up with the entertainment world, but recently Heath Ledger was found dead with a bottle of his prescription sleeping pills. No one knows if it was an accident or suicide.

His movies includes The patriot, A knight's Tale, and the unreleased Batman sequel where he plays the joker.

Now, a big reason I posted this was for some of us to add our condolences, but another one was a personal outrage I saw.

The Westboro Baptist church is planning on picketing his funeral, because he played a gay cowboy in Brokeback Mountain. The church is a bunch of hate mongering bigots anyways, but it goes across many lines to picket someone's funeral.

That's part of the totaltarian mindset that has infected this country. "Either MY way or the hiway, suckah". Plus there are always those who have no class.

Religion and government are two sides of the same coin: a way for the few to control and rob the rest.

I am a firm believer in the right to freely speak ones mind...HOWEVER, I don't think the framers of that Right had idiots like these in mind.

They have the right to an opinion (like everyone else), but they do not have the right to harass and abuse others based on the ASSUMPTION that they are right.

Of course, if someone did anything to them they would say they were martyrs for their cause and just spew their garbage out louder.

I guess these supposed "Christians" missed a couple lessons in the Book of Romans:

Rom 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Rom 12:16 [Be] of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Many years ago I preached a sermon for some folks at a small Baptist church in Israel that was taken from the verses above, and, just like those maggots at Westboro, they didn't want to hear it either (but they did listen!)

Who cares what movie he made. If you didn't like the movie you didn't have to watch it. It is that simple.

these guys apparently hagve already been bombed once, and were told by the US supreme court to, in their words, "Leave sodomy alone" well, they sure are following that ruling very nicely.

These idiots are not from the Right Wing...they are involved with a religious CULT led by a wacko that needs serious mental counseling. The fools out there parading around need a DE-programmer to get them back to reality.

Sad to say it, but I have been around numbers of these kinds of folks before (some of which applauded what Westboro is doing), and once freed of the propaganda they tend to force into folks that unwisely wander into the "church", I can look back and see that they (people like the pastor of Westboro) can lead unwary folks into with their demented version of "God hath said" logic..

In this case I hold that demented "pastor" as responsible for their actions...he is controlling them via the Bible...and sadly the "victims" of this guy (people in his "church") are no safer around him than the folks at Jonestown.
