Hey Everybody,Hope you had a merry xmas,I would like to know what you poeple think about grow cabs.Like the one I builded and use. What I would like to know is if I put this cab up on the net to sell what do you think it would bring? Just the cab,not the lights and hydro stuff and fans, just the cab.what I'am wanting to do is offer three styles,Bare Bones just the cab no finish or paint, meduim cab,and a deluxe cab. They would be shipped and you put the pannels together.Already pre drilled for all the machine screws to assembly. The cabs will be pre build and assemble and finished and then disassemable and shipped.I have seen these metal ones going for over $2000.00 and up.I could put a grow system in the cabs to if they want it.I'am kicking it around and like to know what you poeple think. PEACE

Wood or metal?
Hey T.C.,
I presume you would be talking wood, as that is what these pics appear to show. A lot would depend on marketing. "Wooden grow cabs that blend right in w/decor" or something like that. As for price, I couldn't say, except that with wood you are talking a good deal of weight as compares to sheet metal--therefore shipping costs might cut out a bit of profit. I think it's a good idea. Hell, if you can make a few legal bucks from your hobby you're one step ahead of most people!

4kaan4 said it right, Marketing will be the key. What to charge? You have jigs for cutting, drilling, etc.? Figure your material cost and add it to whatever you think your time and labor is worth. Depending on how and where you get materials, you could probably make a decent profit. However, be prepared for a huge influx of orders. If your idea takes off, you may have to become an employer. Give it a shot. We could soon be saying, "We knew him, when........"
Good luck, toke

in general i like the idea of a wooden grow cab like you have there or that one Video build, but selling such a item is a other thing really. if you make this in large you will face the risk of being charged with conspiracy to produce drugs / trafficking. if you just sell this on ebay you may get a early morning raid from the DEA since you still could have some buds left.
what you can make out of this, on ebay, i would say full loaded $500-1000, emty at the best 200 bucks. on craigslist maybe a bit more since you decide the price - but not much more.
in general for security and avoiding too many question, let a good friend sell it for you - this cuts the risk for you and holds no risk to him if he happens not to have a little stash.

why don't you get in touch with one of the hydro shops around you, maybe they like to sell em for you if you got the facility to produce at large those closets
the is a market for sure, especially due to the fact that most of those "stealth boxes" look so suspicious that you can tell right away what is going on.

Toke,
I KNOW the hydro shop I trade at would love to have one of those on display. They see a lot of folks that could afford one as a indoor garden center...etc.
The finished wood one is my favorite, and if you can't find anyone qualified to take your product to the marketplace, let me know as I would love to be your West Coast rep! (I cover 5 NW states + BC already)
