When I played around with CO2 we would stop using it 2 weeks before chopping. The plant for the most part is done growing, and just ripening.

That's right they say 2 weeks before harvest. I stop using co2 2 or 3 weeks before. This time it ran out about 4 days ago and they are in there last two weeks today. So I won't refilled it for this grow. Here's a good read and infor http://www.simplyhydro.com/using_co2.htmood Peace

Sorry to disagree. Just a technicality. The last 2 weeks, of an 8 week flowering, produces 25% of bud weight. I read this in the faq's. It is true. I see it. It makes sense. 2 weeks is 25% of 8 weeks. So, it is ripening. But, it is also continuing to build density.

I turn my co2 down to 1500ppm about 10 days before it is finished, and turn it off completely or down to 700 ppm (which is a little higher than atmospheric co2 ppm) when we start to rinse, so 7 days before they are done or the last week or so. All done in hydro under HIDs (of course) w/ temp & atmospheric controllers & Liquid propane co2 generator. i could probably find some pics.... the outcome was good.

update
the bottle ran dry and did not get replaced for a couple of days. i put the new bottle in and the next day i thought i could tell it made a difference.
i've been running at 1200ppm on a timer. the 4 or 5 days without co2 went down to 600-700 on my meter.
i'm in week 7 of 9 predicted but might end a week early. the early results are quite satisfactory.

other varieties in there reacted differently to the co2. some got big, some got more. some got more big. definitely worth playing with again.

its expensive to get into - big con
not sure as to other benefits, but yields look impressive over what i've done without co2. i have a variety that says 7-9 weeks, w/o co2, i felt i was early chopping at 9 weeks, w/ co2, she looks ready @7 weeks, i am debating waiting. hmmmm
it seems strain specific too, one variety i have looks like its not much improved with the co2. i have no data to compare to though, new room, too many variables. i did turn it off today. the plants are ripening quickly and i'm in no hurry to harvest. i'll save the rest of this bottle for some youngsters in a week! did i mention its expensive?

An easy/cheap way to supplement with CO2 is by burning an alcohol candle. The only products from burning ethanol are CO2 and H2O. Cheap. Easy.

Hey All, I use co2 and I got my regulator here at http://www.aquacave.com/detail.aspx?ID=4 and a timer.I brought the tank from a gas company for $70.00 bucks. You can rent them from the gas company's too. They want to much at the hydro stores for me to buy it.If you buy the aluminum tanks they run around $100.00,but that tank is yours.Every 5 years they have to be tested,{hydrostatic tested} or they will not fill them. That why some will rent the tank. You will not have to pay for tests every 5 years when you rent them. The test only costs $25.00.So if you are trying co2 out and don't have a tank rent it.This way if you don't like it you can sell the regulator and get back a little of your cost.Co2 does make a differents but you will have too weigh the cost of it to what it dose for your grow. Peace

Thanks for the post TS, and the good advice people. I almost bought one of those buckets today. Think I'll save awhile longer and get a tank & regulator.
