What are you most thankful for?
I'll go first
for the roofs over our heads
the food in our stomachs
the weed in our bowls
for fresh aire and sunshine and blue skies with clouds
for mountains with shadows and soft warm breezes
the moon and stars of the night sky
for Faith and Hope
for the capacity to dream and to love
for the courage to face tomorrow
But, mostly,
I am grateful for the dear ones that never leave my side,
my family...
PS
I don't think i could have got through this year without GP
Jangel saved me more times than i can count..
Oh and Rufus!
I got him this year and having him makes my life better in so many ways i can't count them all!
Yea! for doggies

This topic has been weighing on me heavily lately... this may be the outlet I need.
I've been layed off since April of this year, no jobs in site. I'm making a decent attempt at supporting my family off of the joke checks I get from unemployment but it is hard. I have been thinking a lot about the upcoming holidays and how I will manage to provide my kids with an experience that is a good one they will remember forever. In the midst of all this, the brokenness I feel as a man unable to provide at this time, I still am thankful for many things. I am thankful that my wife is understanding and supportive. I'm thankful for the constant motivation in my children to do better and be better. I'm thankful for the simple fact that I'm not doing as bad as millions of others in this country. I'm thankful for the intellect to be able to go back to school and do something else with my life to provide for my family. I'm thankful for my surrogate family in Green Passion, where I've found more supportive people than I ever knew existed in any one place on the internet. I'm thankful for the ability and opportunity to grow medicine for people who need it and thankful for a state that was wise enough to see the light in medical marijuana. I'm thankful for the massive support structure in my extended family and knowing that if I ever need anything all I have to do is ask. I'm thankful for being able to ask for help as my pride has previously hindered that.
At the end of the day, no matter how bad I think my situation is, I can always find more things to be thankful for then I can find to be mad about.
Happy Holidays

I Truly know how you feel bro, and you have voiced just about all the things I would have. except going back to school. I am thankful for the mediocre job I have after being off for 5 months and even though it barely gets me by I will be able to at least do something for my 17 month old son. But most of all I am thank ful for my son. I never thought I would ever feel this way about a child and now i can honestly say he is my everything.
Keep your head up brother, we will make it through to better times. And yes, I too have learned a lot about living and swallowing my pride too...

yes yes... there is no room for pride like that in todays world. That is what took me the longest to get over, I hate asking for help, but I need it sometimes as we all do. It was amazing to me when my son was born how everything changed. The motivation for everything goes to the child... work for the child, don't party for the child... Everything I do is motivated by my kids. I live a much quieter life then I did before he was born... kinda like it like that.
Sooner or later everything will work itself out KGB... sooner or later.

I am thankful for my immediate family and my family here on GP. I am thankful for my lousy job, even though I hate it, it's a paycheck. I am also thankful for mj, in these times it's nice to be able to sit back smoke a bowl and decompress. And I am thankful for all those men and women still fighting overseas who can't be with their families.

I'm thankful for my children and my good-hearted wife. I don't know how they put up with my shit, I really don't? I'm thankful that my Creator is a forgiving Creator and that he cared enough to send His Son to die for my imperfection/sin so that I might live. I'm thankful that I've done a few good things in this life and that I have some beautiful memories to fall back on when I'm feeling down. I'm thankful for good buds and good friends and the blue sky that looks down on me. I'm thankful for being able to recognize that I have character flaws and that I need to do the best I can to become a better man.
And last but not least, I'm thankful for music, big dumb dogs and cold beer after a hard days work.

I am thankful for every day of my life.
The craziness that I did in my youth led me to believe that I would not live past 30... I have nearly doubled that and I am largely in one piece ( four knee operations and now arthritis pain that I can live with....)!
I am thankful that the Creator of all things saw fit to let me have the parents that I had, the children and grandchildren I brought into this world and the opportunity to live a life, not just spend time here.
I am blessed every day with good family, good friends and a wife who is with me, not against me and I feel loved...
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

I am thankful I once came in these doors and decided to stay...
And for every single one of you....you are blessings in my life.
I am thankful for my sweetie, my children and my mother, who is still with me at 87.
So many blessings!
Peace and may you always be thankful and see the silver lining in those dark clouds.....this too shall pass.
Remember, it is a bump in the road, not the whole road.

I'm thankful for my family and my friends...the one's down the road and the one's online.
I'm thankful for my health and my freedom.
12 years ago I was facing a 55 to life sentence for defending myself after being ambushed and shot 4 times at point blank range by some gangbangers...It's not something I like to talk about, but you guys are family.
I dropped them both and collapsed a few blocks from the scene from lose of blood...I woke up handcuffed to the bed and charged with 2 counts of 187(a)...I spent 4 years in a hell hole gladiator school for turning self defense into the offense...but in my eyes it was all worth it...without the suffering I went through then I wouldn't be the man I am today...April 30th 1997 the hoodlum I once was died and I was reborn a different and better man...for that I am and will be forever grateful...I'm also thankful that a genius entertainment attorney in Calabasas, CA took me under his wing and taught me to make a living legally...I've been blessed in soooo many ways.
CAM-
Edit:
Here is something else I am grateful for
Dear Carlos,
This year, I am thankful to be living in a world that is beginning to make sense. A world where science trumps politics, where governments do not carry out misguided actions towards patients, and where policy makers can stand up and create regulations that promote safe and legal access! And I am thankful to you for helping to create this new world!
Over the past three months, we have achieved unprecedented victories in guaranteeing safe access to medical cannabis.
- The Department of Justice announced it would stop investigating and prosecuting medical marijuana patients.
- The American Medical Association reversed its 72 year old position and has declared that cannabis DOES have therapeutic value.
- ASA compelled the California DMV to stop revoking the driver's licenses of qualified patients.
- A new dispensary ordinance is now being passed in Los Angeles opening the way in Southern California for safe & legal access.
- Congressman Sam Farr, with 28 co-sponsors, introduced the Truth in Trails Act to protect those still caught in the legal system.
In each of these successes, ASA leaders and supporters have played primary roles, which were the result of years of strategic planning, advocacy, and support. We have created a powerful grassroots movement that has done what everyone told us was impossible! Congratulations!
When you think of what you are truly thankful for during this holiday, We have a lot of great momentum, but the fight is far from over!
We wish you the warmest of holiday seasons!
Just think what we can be thankful for next year!

I am thankful for the cosmological constant, and all the other constants of our cosmos which make life, matter and everything we know and enjoy in our own worlds, possible.

The Moon can be thanked for a lot of the "constant" that you speak. Our planet would not b the friendly pot growing place it is without her..
