Default Cant raise my PH?.. (Soil)..

Hey everyone... Im using FFOF Soil and FF nutes And ive been using RO water and i realized that my Run off was Lower then 5.0!!!!..
So i Flushed it with PH balanced water that was 7.0ph..
I flushed my 2 gallon pot with 6 Gallons of 7.0 Ph water.. Then i tested the Run off again and its still only 5.5!!...
Why wont it even out? Do i just have to continue to flush with 7.0 until it Evens out or What?
Thanks for all the help

Hydrated lime will raise the ph or sweeten up soil. I believe crushed oyster shells does the same. You may want to confirm the shell thing.
Good luck

I believe that the use of dolomitic lime as a buffer in soil is fine in organic mixes but that the addition of hydrated lime will not raise the PH. Lime is used to lower PH in acidic soils to 6.5 to 6.8

Addition of Potassium Hydroxide may be used to raise PH but it must be used lightly to slowly raise, I would not try to much too fast, maybe a half teaspoon per gallon. That would be baking soda....

Hopefully Jangel will chime in

IMHO

First, your soil should ph between 6.2 and 6.8 with F.F. products. That's the range they expect their products to achive best results. You don't want to do anything that moves the ph dramatically, as that will shock the kids and slow you down. I'd use small amounts of garden sulpher or lime to raise the alkalinity a couple tenths and let them adjust. With what you've said,I'd relax as soon as they crack 6 on your meter. Good luck with them, peace.
