hemp salve
Recipe for the preparation of my homemade hemp salve
Ingredients:
White or yellow (non-refined - better for allergies) Vaseline, leaves and lower buds of cannabis, optionally a pinch of mint crystals or 0,1 l of hempseed oil.
Proportions:
For 1 kg of Vaseline it is necessary to use 100 g of dried leaves and 50 g of lower buds
Preparation:
1. melt one half of the Vaseline in a larger pot
2. add roughly crushed leaves and let them slowly fry during 20 minutes
3. after cooling the mixture pour into the pot 4 liters of water
4. bring to the boiling point and slowly cook during 90 - 120 minutes
5. let it cool and put it into the fridge overnight
6. take out the fatty cake and press it in order to eliminate the rests of water
7. spread the cake into a wider recipient, cover it and let it ferment during 3 weeks in a dark place at room temperature
8. again put the mixture into a larger pot, add the other half of Vaseline and melt it
9. slowly cook the mixture until the disagreeable smell of fermentation disappears
10. drain it through a strainer and pour the resulting light-green colored liquid into a recipient immersed in a water bath
11. add finely crushed lower buds and cook in the water bath during one hour until a light skim forms on the surface (don’t forget to stir frequently)
12. let it cool and store it for 1 week in a dark and cold place
13. repeat the cooking in water bath and put the recipient into a cold place again for another week
14. melt and cook the mixture as in the precedent point, drain it first through a kitchen strainer and after through a fine canvas (do not throw the canvas with the drained buds, store it into a freezer - it can be very efficiently used as a warm compress in case of asthmatic problems, bronchitis or joint pains)
15. the salve is now ready to be poured into small cups if you want to use it pure - otherwise you can improve it with a pinch of mint crystals (for muscular and joint pains) or with 0,1 liter of virgin hempseed oil (for dermatologic problems)
Pure or mint salve may be stored in a cold place, but they do not deteriorate for at least 6 months even at the room temperature. In the contrary, the salve with the addition of hempseed oil needs to be stored in a cold place and should be used within 6 weeks.
Some healing or relieving effects of the salve
- anti-inflammatory effects
- analgesic effects
- relaxing effects on muscles and other body tissues
- muciparous decongesting effects
- regenerative effects on body tissues
Which diseases the salve heals or relieves as a complementary medicine
- all kinds of superficial wounds, cuts, acne pimples, furuncles, nail incarnations, corns, certain nail fungus
- ragged commissure of lips, fever blisters, herpes
- certain types of dermatitis (including atopical) and psoriasis
- rheumatism and arthritic pains (up to the 2nd degree of arthritis)
- torticollis, back pains, muscular pains and cramps, sprains and other contusions
- phlebitis, venous ulcerations
- hemorrhoids
- menstruation pains
- cold and sore throat, bronchitis
- asthmatic problems with breathing
- chronical inflammation of larynx (application in the form of a Priessnitz compress)
- migraine, head pains
this is something i had stored,as information unsure of the original writer, but thought it may help someone here!!!

Anothertime, you had the compassion to pass on the information you had possesion of. Just like with many things in life, it could be a little piece that makes the difference in someones life.
Please, anything you wish, feel free to share with us. It is all about sharing wisdom freely, and that way, we convince the world.....How could we not?
Peace

I made it and when I did it was a bit heavy on the bees wax. Not too bad though if you heat it for 20 sec in micro it warms it a bit as well and soothes when applying. I was visiting my wife's uncle on the weekend and I left my batch with him as he was raving at how his eczema is much better after using it.
I plan on making more of it and getting the hang of assembling it properly. I have bags of trim and lots of lower buds from last grow too so I plan on making as much as I can. And when I see or hear someone having trouble I will give them some to see if it helps them too.
I like these topical uses of this plant. I want to make different ones to try and see which works better for me and in the meantime help someone else I hope. The raw materials are not too expensive and if someone wants some more they can pitch in and buy some bees wax or something and I will just make it for them.
Thanks again I really appreciate it.

Lucky, can you post a link to it? I am wanting to make the Holy oil and make it more like a salve, for ease of application. I bought some bees wax and some cocanut oil so I was going to try those too.
Peace

thank you for this, anothertime, this is a very cool post, after i start my grow, this has made it to my "to do list" for leftovers.
i think i might switch this out with store bought stuff, and give a small jar of it to my grandmother. she is 76 and has crippling arthritis in her hands, so bad in fact they are now twisted and almost deformed. i hope this gives her the relief she needs.
would it be unethical to not tell her what was in it?
i tried to give you +rep, but the system no longer lets me for some reason.

as far as unethical im not really sure,(coin flip i think)but sometimes i think not telling and helping is much better than not helping when you think you can and dont.

ok, i will have to try the balm out then, for sure. i'd prefer to use something that has been proven.
does it have a strong coconut smell or can you still smell any of the cannabis at all?

i agree, being at that age, and in that much pain, i wouldnt mind help when i needed it, as long as it was safe, no worries!

whew, now i dont feel as "creepy", lol. it seemed like it was wrong in a weird way, but i couldnt make my mind up on it. my conscience was split between the practicality of helping my grandmother and the absurdity of the laws that are prohibiting breakthroughs in medicine from progressing as they should.

no there is no odor use the wintergreen aromatherapy essential oil bought at a health food store and it covers the smell quite well you only need the small one for a batch this size.

Thanks for the recipe! I'm opposed to using petrolium products on my skin so I'm trying to make a salve that doesn't seperate when it solidifies like I've experienced with coconut oil as a base. I have yet to find a local source for beeswax but I'm sure that won't be a problem if I just do it! lol I have a cannabis massage oil I'm currently working on that's rather powerful on sore muscles.

I made a salve using organic honey comb / bee's wax and organic hemp seed oil. There was a little honey but mostly bee's wax. It doesn't separate. It's pretty soft and a little sticky...very green.
