hey all,
i live in a bible belt police state where everyone knows everyones business
and are proud to talk about it.
ive noticed more than once on my door which i always lock,that either lock will be unlocked upon my arrival home.
anyways i recently collected all the gear i needed to make a rubbermaid stealth box.and of course not more than a few days later.i return home from being gone to my door handle being unlocked(the handle and bolt use the same key)
so anyways im definately not going to grow where im at now,but could i be busted with a "intent to grow/manufacture" charge?
should i get rid of the stuff i bought..ie cfls soil..etc?

you may want to change the locks completely if you can.

I wouldn't worry as long as you don't have any seeds... They have to prove you are going to grow marijuana with that equipment, might just start some vegetables and make them obvious, so anyone snooping doesn't think much about it.

also, a cheap video camera might come in handy to find out who is going through your stuff... bible belt or not, its illegal.

check this out too if your legal... could keep some folks from asking unwanted questions. You would have to alter it obviously to fit your state and mandate numbers and all that, but its a good start anyhow.

hey all,
thanks for the prompt replys..i just finished installing a new bolt which i wont hand over the key(as i feel it may be the landlord)if he mentions anything about new bolt ill know for sure.
i guess ill be picking up a few low maintenence houseplants.as for seeds
ive only got 20 but paid $$$ could a dog really pick up the smell from them? i haven't had so much as a joint in my new apt.i have a few very good places i can stash them.as far as my state goes,its deffo a police
state i.e...<5grams cultivated will get a implyed sentence of 5-15 yrs.

be cautious, a newly installed bolt, when renting could potentially raise suspicion.

no doubt... I would wait it out a bit, see if the landlord says anything about the new bolt, and if he does just say that you've noticed your door being unlocked and some expensive jewelry is missing, that should shut him up. Also mention that you are getting a video system that saves video to the internet, even if your not... that should put him on his heals a bit. Landlord or not I wouldn't put up with that invasion of privacy, look up your tenant laws, and review your lease and make sure he actually is breaking the rules, but I'm pretty sure he is.

And yes, dogs can sniff out the seeds, but not from outside. They would have to be in the house first to find them. I had a buddy get busted for three seeds that were found by a dog in his car. They were matted into the carpet but he still found them, that was before we had the new law where I'm at. I read a really good article in this months high times about an invisible bolt for a door, looks awesome and is remote locking with a little key fob. Whole thing can be built for about 100.00 I think. You should look into that too that way you don't have to alter the appearance of the door and the landlord would basically have to axe the door to get inside.

This just occurred to me... think of this for a moment. Imagine what would happen if you had a female house guest for a couple days, your landlord comes in unannounced with his key, and catches her getting out of the shower or something.

This whole thing just seems unimaginable to me, my landlord has never come over unannounced, and if someone walked into my house without me wanting them to, there would be the sweet sound of a 12 gage racking a shell greeting them.

Think about this also, try leaving like you normally would, maybe taking the day off work or whatever you are doing, then parking your car a couple blocks away and walking back home and waiting to see who shows up... Maybe its just me, but that really makes me mad that someone would do that to you and your home.

yea i have been seeing red over all this bs for a few weeks now,good idea about the cam.i appreciate the advice,ill make sure to stash the beans away from my place for awhile.im gonna just have to wait till summer to move again,try to start fresh
where ever i end up.
