magic mushroom kits. a scam??

i have a feeling that this post might not be liked by this forum, but so far everyone seems extremely nice and helpful..so i thought id ask away.

my best friend wants to start growing shrooms, so the two of us have been searching for "kits" online, and doing research. nothing that we found seems to be trustworthy so far. does anyone have any experience with this stuff? he is only really interested in getting one of those 'idiot proof' kits since it is not going to be a serious endeavor by any means, he just wants to try it out and see what happens.

once again, i realize this is a medicianal m.j. forum, but i just had no idea who else to ask.

i forgot to mention, i live in ontario, canada, and i would prefer to deal with a canadian company. i dont like the idea of a kit going through customs, and dealing with a company far removed from home.
