conversion bulbs?

my first question .. i've got a mh light with the enclosed ballast, i saw a conversion bulb that is close to hps .. is it any good? it's an agrosun gold bulb it works with mh ballasts ..

I have an MH ballast and flower under an HPS coversion bulb. Mine works well. I also have mine vegging under the MH now. all seems to be well. Just make sure it is the correct bulb for your ballast and is a coversion bulb. They cost more than a regular hps bulb.

does the HPS conversion perform better in flower than ur MH?

htgsupply has a 400watt ballast kit with light socket for 54.00 bucks .all you have to do then is wire it together(reallyeasy) and get a 400watt bulb.you can get both for about 75.00 bucks .or cheaper if you buy the bulb from homedepot,or lowes?then you would have both setups .you can flower under 800watts as apossed 400?

Im looking real serious at those kits... which should I get to only use one ballast from start to finish...the MH or the HPS?

heres another place that has the same basic kit for about the same price, but its an electrical supply place...for anyone that doesnt want to order from a hydro place. not sure if the one from HTGsupply is the same, but this one states that it will work with MH conversion bulbs

I was looking into the 940W hortilux Ultra ace HPS conversion (HPS running on MH ballast) but coudnt find it for less that $160, locally it was $200, the same price as an Xtrasun 1000W digital switchable ballast. What I ended up doing is getting the new ballast, trading in my old one for $50 store credit then paying $25 more on top of that for a regular HPS bulb. So for $225 out of pocket(only $25 more than just the hps conversion bulb), $275 total, I got a new HPS bulb and new, better ballast.
