Has anyone here ever had trichomes degrade with no cloudy showing?
Wondering if anyone has grown an indoor plant, tried to wait to harvest the bud until trichomes were at least mostly cloudy, but the trichomes failed to cloud up on them? I mean, you left the plant so long waiting for cloudy trichomes that the trichomes started to degrade badly, without any of them ever turning cloudy or amber?
This assumes that the plant was grown properly, fed properly, proper ph, and you started flushing around the time that you should, etc.
No problemzzz, just kururus...

Never heard of such a thing.
With a stable strain, grown correctly,...shouldn't happen.

The only thing I can think of is I have damaged the pistils trying to get a magnified look at them. Touching them excessively will make them degrade so if your a fan of squeezing your buds while they're growing this can happen.

I have heard of some strains that are not at their best by trichomes...these are rare but are out there. With these strains you must harvest by length of flower, not trichs. I know ISO had one of these in his old journals. Can't remember the name and I beleive it was a med strain that was clone only. I will pm him about this.
Peace

Jangel, that's quite a memory you have!
Saw this in one strain I used to grow. It was a locally bred Blackberry, and you pretty much had to go by the hairs instead of the trichs, as the trichs might go cloudy, but rarely did one actually go amber.
Here is a pic of it.
Note how dark the hairs are, but this was at less than 40 days of flower! I used to let them go about 48-50 days, max.
Best thing to do in this case is to chop just a small branch, or a few buds off and let them dry for 3-4 days (use a microwave, if needed) and see how they smoke. If good, then take the plant down, if not, wait a bit longer.

LOL! Yes, isn't that funny I remember things of that sort? But don't ask me where I put some seeds a few months ago....still haven't found them. It was a safe place! LOL!
Still a beauty too ISO!

My Joey Weed BlueberryXCindy99 does that. The Trichs turn slightly cloudy but never completely. It sounds wierd but you have to look for leaning Trichs when that happens. The Trichs actually look like they are leaning away from each other. The trichs will also swell up to the point where the little hairs disappear and thats when I pull it! Nice picture jangel. Looks like the Kish!
