Advice on Purchasing led grow lights
I have been doing lots of reading on led grows and finally i feel like the technology is at a point where i want to try it myself. I am torn however between buying a supernova enhanced spectrum and a 600 watt model from ebay for example one like this 600W 600 WATT LED UFO PANEL GROW LIGHT TRI-BAND SYSTEM - eBay (item 300333753736 end time Aug-03-09 17:51:07 PDT)
if you guys had the option which one would you choose and why?

already have one of those but have recently moved into a smaller living area and don't want to worry about exhausting heat from my 1k watt.

$1,300 seems steep for a single light, but there are LEDs in comparable wattages for $4,000, so I can't say its over priced for what it is. I guess if you feel like experimenting and have the cash to spend it is as good a deal as you can get.
My advice from a less experimental, more pragmatic point of view would be to buy AC if you don't want to exhaust. If you already have the 1K, I would bet you could out pull that LED light, for about half the cost by just purchasing a nice AC unit. If you know someone who can setup HVAC, or don't yet have a grow going (get the HVAC guy in there before anything is setup), you can run a split system. These systems have their compressors outside, with coolant lines (2") running into the unit in your room which puts out nothing but cold air.
I have to tell ya though, I've yet to see even an apartment that could not be ventilated, safely.

You are best off going with the 5 band series instead of the tri band
It has much more penetration

Are electricity and bulbs free where you live?
If they are, I'm moving!

$2500 for 750W, do the math on how many 1000W systems you could have at that cost

LED is not powerful enough yet. Maybe in a couple years from now, but its not ready to be used by itself. A 400/600watter hps will outperform a LED setup.

Honestly no I don't. But I do remember caligrower's post on Cannabis Culture forums, he no longer posts there, but he had plenty of LED panels, he still had to get some T5s to combine with his LED panels during veg.
He stated himself that LED is somewhat adequate for vegetative grows, if you get the right amount of LED panels but you're gonna need HPS for flowering.
The ratio of cost of LED panels to the power they put out. Does not make savings in your power bill worth it.
You can get LED panels up the a55, but it's gonna cost you a pretty penny to get enough for a full grow cycle.

I take this seriously-I'm going to have to see some evidence of your first hand experience, other than that it's all he said she said...aint it?

LED on its own, you will need alot of panels.

3 UFOs needed to flower how many plants in total?
The 3 ufo's cost 1,800 bucks.
I don't get why bf74 is offended, Im not here to talk down on LED growers. If thats what you love and being on the edge of technology in horticulture, then that's all that matters. I'm not growing your plants.

Right now the king would still be sunlight then HPS
To get optimum cola size HPS still rules and the LED thread Moonbiscuit is referring to was still supplemented with HPS.
