Yes, but the 400 watt hps from Ace will probably be a standard type lamp, not a plant/horticultural type lamp. (it will still grow weed tho)

Hi there you have to be very careful to put the right bulb in there. First off the size of the socket is slightly different then a regular bulb so it shouldn't fit.

Can you get to a grow shop close by and get one tomorrow? Be careful make sure you get the right bulb for it.

Take care.

What brand of Bulb do they carry at Ace hardware? MAKE SURE IT IS A "U" position or "H" for either a universal or Horizontal postion bulb. I can tell you right now do not use the Lumalux bulbs as they are terrible and more important they are prone to exploding. The spectrum on standard HIDs is generally for that of area lighting unless it is a specially designed Gardening Bulb. I just dont care when it comes to HIDs GET QUALITY BULBS! Cheap bulbs not intended for growing are more dangerous than they ever are economicaly feasable for your garden.
Be Safe Please,
Med

Never a problem my friend. I may still be a bit green in the plant area but when it comes to HIDs I have to say I am pretty dang familiar with them and know what works and what works safely.
Peace,
Med

Just my personal experience. Never used a Plusrite but have used other cheap Lumalux LU400s and other GE bulbs and they just dont emit enough Lumens. Thats awesome though if you are pullin that off with those. Hmmmmmmmmm the price is even better as opposed to 96$ a bulb.LOL Beautiful job i'm impressed totally.
Peace,
Med
