Moment in time,it may never happen again
I was just listening to this bird outside, one of the most beautiful sounds I've not noticed and heard in some time. I just then drifted into the moment, Alls I could here was mother nature!!!!
I got the cam cord thinking I'd at least record the bird singing even if I couldn't see him.. So while looking out my window and listening to this lovely sounding bird with lighter bird calls in the background, It suddenly dawns on me, This is just too perfect, I thought while still recording, I then realize after many minutes, I had just put in a cd with soothing nature sounds.lol....
Soothing and feels great!! The moment really pulled me in. Nice dope, nice frame of mind,,. When was the last time you let yourself drift away into the soothing moments in life and forget all the unnecessary rest...

Blue Jays are so pretty, even when they can be hogs at the feeders

Hahaha I almost missed this part.
Thats hilarious.
That would soo be something I would do.
OMG....I laughed my head off when i read this.
I really love birds also. We live way out in the country and we feed ours in the winter time.
Yes the bluejays are very aggressive birds but they have so many different calls that they make.
My hubby is a bird carver so they have a special place for us also
Just LOVE the birds
What a lovely thread deb. Very nice

Wow thanks for the compliments... I love feeding the birds, I had quite a system going on for feeding all the little creatures, had the perfect spot outside my window, took pictures made a list of the different birds, so on so on... In the past month these black birds have come around, they are agressive at getting rid of the other birds and animals.. So it is they who eat all the food and have taken over my land... they are a hundred percent worst then any blue jay or crow.....What do you do about them...

Hubby and I also love the birds and get all kinds here as well inlcuding bluejays, sparrows, cardinals, nuthatches, orioles, woodpeckers, different finches, grosebeaks, humming birds, blue birds, indigo buntings
Gosh there are so many.
What we discovered is that because they all tend to eat different types of seeds you need to get different types of bird feeders.
For instance the bluejay will come to a feeder with mixed seed and dive right in throwing the seed everywhere JUST to try and get the ones they are looking for.
They prefer corn or oiled sunflower seeds
The chickadees, sparrows finches and other small birds prefer a a mixed assortment including millet and other small seeds but they also love sunflower seeds.
As for the crows, grackles and black birds and even including the bluejays we found that it is best to either throw the food right on the ground so that they can clearly see it. Sometimes we even include pieces of toast or worms from hubby's compost.
Once you establish a feeding ground for these bigger more aggressive birds, they will stay off the feeders for the smaller birds and you will see more harmony amongst them.
Of course those bluejays will always squack away but be less agressive and less wasteful
It is a most enjoyable past time
I like to keep the windows open so that I can hear them.
The baltimore oriole has a really nice song and I know it is really spring when i hear it.

Thanks for the ideas to get rid of the black bird problem. I can see no other way to handle it then to do as you said, make an area just for the bigger birds, then they might leave the rest alone,, Dam them, I hope this works and we'll be one big happy family lol
