Going on vacation for a week.
I will be going on vacation for a week and not sure what to do with my girls for a week. All and any suggestion are welcome. No one knows about my "room" so using a sitter is out of the question.

can you post a picture or two of your set-up? it'd be a lot easier to think of
possibilities if we can see what we're talkin' about.
off the top of my head i'd say you'll want to set up some kinda wick system.

Definately try for a wick system. If you're not up for it you can always take the chance of over watering it and letting it get really dry? But that's not very good, now is it?

Yes Picture Would Help, But I'm Assuming You Are Growing In Soil?,,You Will Be Gone A Week? (7-Days)?,,Just A Thought, They Make Watering Timer's For The Outside Lawn That You Hook To The Hydrant, You Could Set-Up A Reservoir With Line's To The Pot's & Come On To Water On The Third Night You Are Gone, Then When You Get Home They Will Need To Be Watered Again??,,It's Just A Thought, Might want To Try It Out Before You Leave??LOL!!

This will work.if onlt have 8 plants or less,if more you have to get two heads. One pump{264gph},one irrgations hud 8 outlet,1/4" feed lines, one timer, one contrainer to hold enough wateror nutr till you get back.run th water lines to the plants and to the head and put it in the water hooked to the pump and set the timer. You will have to set it up and test run it to set the right time on and how long to pump.that's the easiest I can think of. Peace

Hey smokin joe,you might want to lift up your lights way up and shorten the cycle some too. Thats the worst part of leaving your stuff unattended. Better to strech that burn it all down
Have fun on your vacation

go to home depot. buy the 'plantastic' plant water feeders. they come with one bottle and one extra drip controller. these spikes/drip controllers can be put on any 20 oz or 1 liter bottles. I put mine on large 1 liter bottles of seltzer. SOAK your plants before you leave, and then stick in those drippers. They will keep your girls alive....this is what I use. I think they around $4 a piece (which is actually 2 of them since they come with extra parts)....but well worth the money. You can also buy the "Aqua Globe" system at home depot too but this is a little more expensive and has the possibility of draining faster since it doesnt have a drip filter. good luck!

Heading to the shore for a week and plan on searching the beach with my metal detector. Last year I found a lot of coins, three silver rings, one gold ring and a cell phone. A Nor'easter last year really eroded the beaches and metal detecting wasn't the best.

Have a nice vacation. If you're coming to Southern California we've been having 75-85 temps this past week. Bring your sunscreen!
