how many plants for a 3-5 pound yield

i wanna know how many plants should be under a 1000 watt hps for maximum potentil.. and how many r worth having under it????//

whats the best 1000 watt light, easyest to cool and energy effient ...i heard of a tube light and many others any1 help me out on this ???

5 foot by 5 foot maximum yield. Fill that area

Hello there BlazedMinds. You seem to want everything answered so quickly and haven't even posted an introduction yet! Slow down my YOUNG friend. If you take a breath we will direct you to how to do your own research in our home, GreenPassion.

I have merged 3 of your threads as they are all basically asking the same question. I am sorry, but you need to do your own research. We will gladly help you find the answers but you must study and read the parts we suggest, just like all the members answering your questions have. Also, you do not go into a hydro grow, with no experiance or knowledge and come off asking how to grow pounds and pounds of cannabis. We deal with a sensitive subject here. and are fighting for legalization, are you a medical user or a recreational user? Why do you want to grow pounds and pounds? Do you have a place to do this? Do you have your own home to do this in? Do you rent or own your home? These questions are importent ones for us to ask you.

okay, my friend. Slow down and take a breath. We got ya now.

PLEASE go to the home page and READ THE FAQ'S. There are 2 of them there, one is brought over from Overgrow and the other is our own GreenPassion FAQ.

We could tell you all of this, but chances are it would not stick. This is just like going to school. You are trying to learn something quickly that takes time. If you want to grow successefully, then you have to learn about the plant before you go full hog.

SLOW DOWN! and do what I have done, what most members here have done, do research, read the FAQ's, study other people's grows. It is not something to learn about on wednesday and do it on friday. There are many things you have to understand.

Plus as I said, you have to learn about the plant, and if you need it for medical reasons, then you can also learn what type will work best for you. Also, hydro is difficult if you have never grown before. We always suggest you grow a cheap plant, from bag seed if you have it, in dirt first as dirt is far more forgiving and hydro can go south on you so quickly, it is difficult for many to do well.

So study first, then ask your questions. Please let me know what your health issue is and I can also direct you to much info that can aid you as well.

Okay, THEN once you have that handled, post all your questions IN ONE THREAD please. You will most likely get many helping you, and it is better to have a discussion than to smash out questions without cohesion. This way you will have a better idea how everything works AS A UNIT. Which is what a grow really is, a unit.

not to bust your bubble but i grew 20 plants under 3000 watts my first grow and didnt even pull a pound of dried and cured bud....your goals can be met, but itll take experimentation my friend

dude you need to grow a gram before you can think about growing a pound or more. you are talking a lot of work not even myself would want to take on right now. some of our best medical growers (FROM CALI BRO!) are barely pushing those numbers with professional grow rooms that they have built themselves with lots of time and investment!

im sure we were all once where you are, everyone has to start somewhere and we're glad you have chosen to start here with us @ Green Passion.

Best advice i can give you is to start small! Work your way up as you succeed. It would be a shame to see you invest lots of hard earned cash and time into a grow you can NOT handle on your own!

i apologize if i discouraged you b/c that was not my attempt...please take Jangels advice and read up on everything you can. Everyone here is great they will help you along with whatever they can.

i like that man...1000 watt lights do serious work in the garden but they have to be used the right way to be effective and efficient. you will def need to air cool it so an air cooled hood is a must....try to get one with 6 inch flanges on it at least so you can easily attach a 6 inch vortex to keep it nice and cool @ your canopy.

these lights give off a **** ton of heat so without cooling them properly you will never be using it to the best of its ability.

if you can harness the power of a 1000 watt light efficiently you will be very happy with the results.

I don't know about the laws where you live, but if you have the ability to grow outdoors you will be able to yield more grams/plant if you keep them healthy. This being said, you won't be able to control all aspects of the grow, there will be new things to watch out for like animals and weather conditions.

If you are set on growing inside, there are a few tricks that are posted throughout the site. Jangel has a great guide on LST'ing which could help you with your quest for bud. But try and take it slow at first man, I know you're excited, I'm just starting my first grow too, but you have to take baby steps.

hm. this is just a sugestion buddy. but, before you go ahead with a hydro grow, which is tricky for experienced growers and often goes bad in less than no time. soil is much more forgiving. also i'd go for two 600W lights rather than one 1000W.

the reasoning is simple. energy efficiency, light spread and total lumens. the 600watters are more efficient per watt and give off more lumens than any other. dont ask me why, i dont know. but i have read about it over and over. anyway its only 200 over you 1000 W mark. and you have the bonus of just starting off with one and THEN when you've leart all about growing you move up and buy another.

two lights set side by side have a greater spread of light than one single bulb as well.

i suggest you buy the jorge cervantes grow bible. it costs around $29 and has all the simple down to earth info you can handle to start off. it very well written and explains averything you need to start off. including what i just went on about two 600 instead of one 1000.

you will still have many questions of course, that we'll be glad to answer.

yeh, and dirt will be a great starting point. you can forget things like feadings and waterings with dirt. where as with a hydro set up, if one thing goes wrong, your back to square one, loose weeks of work not to mention investment...
