This system is made for 6 very small plants, SEA of GREEN in a small closet grow space, vegged for two weeks and then Budded. There are severl posters here with this system. On my third grow, a old friend told me it was not natural to VEG for jsut two weeks, kind of like a child getting pregnant and having a baby. made sense to me, so I ordered a 2nd tank, and had only 2 plants in original tank, and I moved one plant to the new tank. I have pics to post, one plant got over 4 feet tall, uncommonly tall, cause it was a indica, Northeren Ligths. But this system of feedng the baby when the roots are less than an inch long, is amazing. Nothing compares to the rapid growth.
Look for a thread started by g0t420ndacivic here, he has pics on one of his threads of my plants and harvest.

Thanks a lot guys. I can't wait to get a bubbleponics system up and running. I'll be sure to start a journal.

Roseman!
I want to know what size tubes the water uses. I'd like to know both the pump to hub and hub to net pot sizes. Thanks.

The tubes are normal aquarium sized, perhaps the rest of your question should be asked over at stealth hydro?

The tubes are half inch and quarter inch. Typical of what is sold at Walmart in the aquarium department.

hey Rose, guess what man, I'm ready. Got two full sets of hydro-organic nutes from SH, 1 6 plant unit, and 1 other in the making with possibly more than just 6 slots. Seeds are Blueberry and Fat Bastard. I'm using 4 Blue spectrum 65W CFLs and a 400W HID MH/HPS. I'm going to work on the closet tonight as well as pre-soaking some rockwool. I have two questions though. 1, a partner of mine started some seeds too early, after we ordered everything he started some blueberry assuming we'd get the stuff in a few days and they got to their first set of leaves and stopped growing and have been that way for about 3 weeks. We've kept them in the soil in hopes we can transplant the seedlings to rockwool/bubbleponics. The reason they've sat so long is because it took a few extra weeks to get all our stuff. So now that we have everything I need some instruction on getting these pitiful little plants transplanted and thriving. Some of them are completely yellow, some have been hardy enough to stay green but sorta hanging on by a limb style. Also they've been kept under some cheap CFLs on a 24hr light schedule (also not done purposely, I know its better to do 16/8). All equipment is stealth hydro except for my 400W HID and the unit I'll build tonight. I have a complete water status monitor on order, everything from the temperature to PPM, EC, all that shit. I appreciate anyone's advice.
Let me know if you need any further details.

1, WET but do not soak those cubes or they will disintegrate and fall to pieces.
2, you are about to be amazed, those feeding tubes can almost bring a dead plant back to life and will definitely bring a sick plant back.
RINSE the Hydroton rocks good by pouring clean water over them, in a coander or giant tea strainer. RINSE th dirt off the roots completely before adding to the cube, cup and rocks. Put your sick babies in the rocks, cups, and have the proper lights and start with half nutes the first 24 hours. make sure the water is tricking out the ends of the tubes and the end of the tube is butted into the rockwool cube. Within a day or two, you'll see them revive.
You can start a seed in the extra cubes if you do not have 6 baby plants..
GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED. I never tried the organic nutes.

I'm gonna start a grow journal with photos, if not tomorrow, the day after. I've been preparing for this grow for almost a year. This might be something to see

What would be the optimum temp for the grow closet using HID lighting and CO2? I've heard I need to keep it around 85 degrees under those conditions.
Lets say I need my water temp. in my res to stay around 72 degrees. How do I do that if my grow room is almost 80 degrees?
Would using two large bubble-stones with cool air lines running inside of it pretty much take care of that?

I have no experience or knowledge of hot HID lights.
The water should stay about 7 to ten degrees cooler than the room with two air stones moving it around. Pot grows in Afganastan in 110 degree heat, but I'd strive for less than 90 degrees max!

Theres actually been some new studies, that I've been reading and the they claim that the lower the temperature, the more thc that is produced by the plant. Some of these studies document plant growth down to freezing temperatures.
It appears that the plant produces thc as a defense mechanism against the cold, and in my own grows, I've used both co2 tanks and dryice, which is extremely cold. If memory serves me right, about negative 80 degrees.
When using dryice, I get a much better plant growth, with trichomes frosting up all over the place. This growth pattern can not be repeated using plain co2 tanks either, I've tried.
So I've written off the results, as a direct result of the temperature of the dryice.
Growth does certainly slow down as the temperature rises. 90 degrees without additional co2 is not a good thing.
While what roseman points out is true, plants do grow in 110 heat, these are strains well suited for that heat.
Without co2 we should all be trying to keep the temps under 80 degrees, preferably around 75.

Yo Purp.
Never above 85 indoors. Plants outdoors aren't in containers and have more root mass to protect them from those searing temps.
If you can locate your res outside yer grow room you'll definitely drop the res temps.
If it must stay inside the space, insulate the hell out of it and protect it from the heat of the light.
Airstones can help..but some airpumps push warm air....so be careful and don't always think that aeration is gonna cool it off.
freeze small water bottles and drop em in the res. Not the best way/not a long-term solution...but it will certainly cool it off temporarily.
I have the luxury of cool to cold air most of the year here vman. T'was 36 last night. I've experimented with cool temps..down to about 40-45. Growth slows...leaves purp...resin MAY increase...but probably not over growing a HEALTHY plant in *optimal* conditions. I saw no benefits...and damn..it sure sucks to go into a cold growroom!

VM and btdt are absolutely right. I grow in a small closet, but I have an oscilating fan blowing 24/7 and I use a $9.95 Walmart humidifier and I use a foliage mist spray often too.
THC is more in the resin than anywhere and trichomes are what they call resin glands. I too have read up on studies of cold temps and increase in potency or increase in trichomes and thc. It is proven that cool air increases potency, and in outdoor grows you see that in September when it is getting cooler. They can survive in hot temps, but they do perfer the breeze and cool air.
I've never done an indoor grow in summer, even with new air conditioning in the room. I've done 4 indoor gorws in winter and it just seems easier in the cool weather to maintain the desirable temps.

what should I do as far as keeping the pump from clogging up and all that. I would like this grow to go as smoothly as possible, being my first grow ever, and going hydro. I know to dissolve the nutes first, THEN add right? Any other tips like that? I'd like to take as many preventative measures as possible.
My grow room is 2' X 8' X 8' Tall. Conveniently there is a bar going from side to side hanging about 63 inches up ( a little over 5' )
