Rep Power: 91 | | MMJ for OHIO? I have seen small bits in the News recently about the Debate over legalizing Medical Marijuana in Ohio heating up. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009...ocates_ho.html Is Ohio still just DEBATING the issues, or are there actually issues that made it to the ballot this November? I have been searching the net, and I only see 3 issues on the ballot this year (casinos, livestock, & veterans) is there something I'm missing? Im reading recent articles about the hope of MMJ in Ohio, but not sure what all this means. Is there anything on the ballots for Ohio this election (2009) concerning Marijuana?

No it is not...
I can't believe no one in this state can get a committee together, get the signatures, and get it on the ballot. I think it would pass. They did it for the smoking ban...
No it is not... I can't believe no one in this state can get a committee together, get the signatures, and get it on the ballot. I think it would pass. They did it for the smoking ban...
This is one of the MOST disturbing things I read in this article... Bruce Mirken, spokesman for the group, said activists in Ohio were not ready to enlist the organization's help. "The last time I heard, and this was awhile ago, there seemed to be some infighting among local activists," Mirken said. COME ON PEOPLE! Are we NOT all here for the same reason? THIS IS TERRIBLE! AND EMBARRASING to say the least! I HOPE ITS NOT TRUE? After visiting the Global Marijuana March in Cleveland last year, I can understand now why it was so unorganized, and lacked SOOOO much important info! It was headed by the President of the Ohio Cannabis Society, and it was ALL about HER? She paraded around in a sexy lil outfit, smoking marijuana, Chanting " The only way to make us leave it to bust our Ass and take our weed"! Sexy costume- All for it, get some attention. Smoking Marijuana- GREAT. Its not everyday you get the chance to spark up and be escorted through the city streets by police in uniform. The Chant- WTF? You can't come up with anything better to say? You get your attention, you get the freedom to puff on the magic herb, everybody's watching- AND YOU CAN'T THINK OF 1 EDUCATIONAL THING TO SAY? (Just as embarrassing as this article) It's boggled my mind since May... If the President of the Ohio Cannabis Society can't think of anything smart or informative to say, WHY didnt she have someone with some sense show up and speak? NOW I SEE... Everybody's to busy bickering, and getting high! WHAT A SAD SAD THING! | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to JointGirl For This Useful Post: | |

Rep Power: 91 | | Tonya invited me to a Ohio Miami Valley Normal meeting- Online this Wednesday between 9-10 PM (through Facebook) It was an open invitation and I will try to attend. I would like to ask a few questions about all this, and she is supposed to be giving an update on the Ohio Compassion Act and where it stands (its been trying to get on the ballot for YEARS now!) I also would like to ask her about Bruce Mirkens comment posted in the Cleveland Chronicle On Oct 21. That comment still leaves me disturbed! Laura Kosa Is the President of the Ohio Cannabis Society and lead the Global Marijuana March last year in Cleveland. President Ohio Cannabis Society's Page - Cleveland Global Marijunana March I'll include the pict on her FRONT PAGE. THIS IS WHO IS REPRESENTING ALL FROM OHIO! She was portraying herself to be from Cleveland Norml? I dont know if she is that pres also, or just a member? I paid $10 at the march thinking I was signing up for Cleveland Norml membership. When she handed me the card, it says Ohio Cannabis Society. I AM STILL YET TO RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM MY MEMBERSHIP! The March was an embarrassment to educated smokers everywhere! There was not 1 educational, interesting bit of info displayed (besides our signs me sis and Dad made the night b4) I want to attend this yr, but with a different agenda than JUST GETTING HIGH! Don't get me wrong... I'll be puffing on the GOOD STUFF, but with a purpose to educate others also! I plan on printing up several different types of flyer's! I want SOME MEDICINAL INFO relayed. I want to make DVD's with Run From the Cure, and some additional Youtube clips on it to pass out. I want to make a set of flyers up leading them HERE, explaining HOW EASY it was to start your own meds. I will include the phone numbers and addresses of local hydro/grow shops, along with an internet favorite of mine (WWW.HTGSupply.com) I would love to do a little example list of things needed to start, and aprox cost of starting. I want to make some flyers up about OVER GROWING the GOV and what it means, and HOW EASY IT IS to do and make your 4/20 tradition! Theres SOOO many things that should be discussed or mentioned- AND NO-ONE TO DO IT? Me and my sister already talked about setting up our own 'Booth' regardless of what anyone thinks! My sister had a bad experience with some In-Laws after returning home from the March. She was gang'ed up at the door, as soon as we dropped her off! It was sad that she didnt have 1 Piece of Valuable Info to hand to them as she walked by! If she wouldve had just 1 flyer with the list of MJ Cures, or uses, with Valuable Websites with ACCURATE INFO, It couldve made the difference in how her Non_Smoking In-Laws thought about us Pot Heads! We are strong girlz, and laughed about it the next day, but feel bad for anyone else who might have faced this situation and bee TOTALLY UNINFORMED! OK Sorry For The Rant AGAIN!

JG, you are ten times the cannabis activist as Tonya Davis.
If you want to start your own thing, you have my help.

Thanks Michael-
I Might Actually Take You Up On That!
Me and my sister have been discussing it already... We just have no idea where to start, or how to make it legitimate? I KNOW the efforts of others have been SLIM to NONE in my area, and this makes me MAD! There are soooo many people around here who have NEVER heard of the Global MJ March, or even NORML! This is just MISSED OPPERUTNITIES if you ask me.

Oddly enough, I know a lot about your area and the local people. I know far more than I wanna know about TD - firsthand personal experience. I knew her back in '02 - '03 or so. Not my favorite person.

As far as where to start, I suggest we start at the beginning.
Your goals are obvious. You need to formulate a strategy to achieve them and carry it out.
Pretty straightforward, really.
