Rep Power: 102 | | LED's Im sorry but i don't have much info on LED's but i can tell you that CFL's only produce popcorn nugs if done incorrectly. (In response to your question regarding size of your flowers with CFL'S) Of course HPS will drastically increase your yield, but CFL's have potential if used correctly. I know this first hand, I have flowered using only CFLs in the past.
I have seen what LEDs can do and they can produce hefty colas and nugs like HPS's do, except without all that heat output. I do believe right now, being a semi-new thing, LED fixtures are very much overpriced, but I've seen great results.
There is a member here that uses only LEDs and they have some amazing pics. I will try to find him and hook you up, unless he finds you first. I just cant think of his name/handle right now but I will eventually and get back to this thread with the info. I'm sure he will be of great help to you. If you go through the gallery you might find his pics of his LED grow. Kinda looks like a spaceship. Best of luck! E.M.C E&X Teamgreen

I just posted information on LEDS. I believe that his setup would be great for a small box, but would be tricky to implement in a large area.

You could just spend $350 and get a 90 watt light from ProSource with 90 day no-risk trial and a 3-year warranty. I'm not so sure you could do much better than that on your own, when you consider the substantial time investment of DIY.
Check the link in my sig for ProSource.

yea except that i dont have thousands of dollars to spend on sufficetnt lighting.. its not for a closet its a 10x10 room with 75 at any given time.. i have 2 replace 4000w of hid lighting and even the larger 300w pre built ones i would need 4min and that would easily b a 3000$ cost not 2 mention shipping... however if anyone knows of a wholesaler that has quality not made in china lghts let me know cause that could be a option if i can get a reasonable price drop on 5-10 or so

That's a shame. Because, in the end, standard HID lighting actually costs a great deal more than our LEDs. Yes, they are expensive, up front. But, HID is even more costly, over time - a LOT more.
I can get you a volume discount on ProSource Illuminators. PM me if you're interested.
Also, I'd like to say there are both good manufacturers in China and bad ones. As far as quality, I would be far more worried if a product was made here in the US, than in China. Most things made here in the last 20+ years are either junk or ridiculously overpriced. I can understand avoiding Chinese made goods for political reasons. But, as far as value, it's hard to beat 'em. They are the factory for the entire first world. That's not because Chinese goods suck. It's because, for the most part, everything they make is as good, or better, than anything made here - and a lot cheaper. If that wasn't true, no one would buy their stuff and calculators would prolly still cost $200.
