Default Pulsing LEDs results in better plant growth for less electricity-

I'm going to build my own LED grid, so I'm going to post any relevent information here for everyone else.

Maybe thats why the simple DC boards people buy on Ebay are such a failure?

Besides the fact that they suck. ;)
They also don't have a very rich hue, so they appear brighter, with higher mcd ratings, but don't do as much for the plants.


It seems that by itself it isn't better than non-pulsing, but gives better growth-per-watt?

Above 720Hz the plants did not seem to detect a difference between that and full on driving the LEDs. They also explain the lower frequencies 220Hz and such can be used to save additional power.

Great... Pulsing might be beyond my technical knowledge.

It wont be for long-kudos to you for taking the pioneering step, homebrew units are the best I've seen.
