Rep Power: 138 | | Totally awesome guys. I love the idea At the present moment I am up to my eyeballs trimming and baking but I would love to share some info I have on this subject. I am presently using l.e.d lights that i got custom made for my veg only and I will post some ifo along with some pictures. I also know of a member at another forum at gardenscure.com whom has schematics on how to build your own. I'll find it and ask permission to bring it over to here or just add the link here so you can check it out yourself. ProSource/Illuminator:
I got one for a friend to run in his closet... it's a tiny closet, so the 90w unit should work fine as it has a really small light footprint. I ran it a little before giving it over... and imho:
Clones didn't care for it. Reacted far better with standard growlux bulbs.
Mamma/Donors did just fine with it... ran for 1 week with no noticeable difference.
Veg Babies... after the clones got their first transplant, they did just fine under it. This was no surprise as I've read veg growth is generally good with the LED's, but the light spread quickly became a problem as the plants quickly outgrew the available light area.
Other... yet unknown to me.
I'm really hoping to see how these lights do in a flower cycle. Will they grow... sure. I expect they will and flowering will take place as the light cycle (on/off) will control... but my real concern here is THC production and flower density. Basically... still waiting to see if these little buggers can produce a dense, sticky, strong bud. Time will tell... made the investment and nothing to do now but wait.
Another angle I will be considering IF I drop HID's and go with these... T5. I do plan on having just a few T5's on the outsides of the area. This is for me as much as the plants. These things whacked out my eyeballs... so if your planning on spending any real time in your LED room, ensure you have some kind of standard light source available for yourself. I figure since I need it for me... why not toss it on a timer and suppliment the grow too? So... that's my plan and a tip for anyone else planning to use these lights. I've read much about them, but didn't really consider this angle until I was walking out of my room, blind as a bat.

Growers are getting over 2lbs per 1000 watts using the Jumbo UFO 180 watt lights. They seem pretty happy.
