There has been a rule of thumb... you are starting to get it right if you can get a gram per watt per month yield. I know it is hard to compare, (with wattage consumption vs HPS equivalent lighting) but does anyone have any facts in line with this thinking? Does that make sense?

Using CREE XLAMPS (red and blue) I have achieved .5 grams per watt per 2 month cycle. The gram per watt per month of HPS always applied to vertical or horizontal on movers is my understanding. That a gram per watt per harvest (generally 2 months) was the standard for fixed horizontal lighting.

I've heard reports of people getting a gram per watt per cycle (2 months) with LED, but have yet to see a journal documenting this.

Before my arrest I was growing ebb and flow in a 4"x6" tray with 2 600 watt HPS. Depending on the strain grown I got 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. every 45 -60 days. Do you think these led's are up to that?

I'm partial, because I work for a LED company. But, I only work for them because their lights are great.

Here's a link to a journal of a grow using 10 of of our 180w Jumbo UFOs over 40 plants with one plant per square foot: Growing with the 180W Jumbo UFO

He says he's getting 2oz+ per sq ft. Growers in Canada say they are getting two pounds per 1000 watts - which is twice what they consider to be acceptable.

I can state with confidence that the 180 is the best LED light on the market - and the only one with a satisfaction guarantee.
