SJ is it LED that fits in a regular socket? I think I saw them at the wally too. I don't know enough about them so I left it there.

Im going to incorporate them in my veg room then for sure. I have seen a few youtube videos on them and they seem like the way to go for vegging.

cant wait to see your grow.
i am pretty interested in this new technology for growing, but still have lots of doubts
whats a good led , whats a bad led?

I think I will get a couple as well to try in my veg/mother room can't hurt. The nice thing about seeing them at wally's is at least they will be cheaper there then my local hydro store. There are some benefits of mass retail. Especially for us folk that are on tight budgets.

I forgot to look at the colors I assumed by the location that they came in soft white daytime just like regular bulbs, but you know what they say about assuming lol

what are the right leds for growing anyway. theres about a million different types of all different colours.. so whats right and whats wrong?
someones got to know... for veg and flowering are there different lights?.. that sort of thing. also how do they fare in comparisson to other lights. like in bud weight from one to another. i dont want to know about lumens and wattage but real important stuff like dry weight watt for watt. like if i had three identical clones, one in CFL one in HPS and one under leds...
anyone?

I was only thinking to add these to my veg/mother room as supplemental lighting. They are sold as bright white lights "accent" was also printed on the package I saw.

Right on lucky
Thats what I was hoping for. I saw a youtube video of a side by side time lapse with HID vs LED. The LED grew about 2-3 times faster then the plant under the hps in vegg but once switched over to flower the LED fell way behind. Im not sure if it was just the color bulb he was using but he got about 1/3 of the smoke for the LED even though it was a much larger plant.
My conclusion is LED is great for vegg but Im going to stick with the HPS for flowering

My entire grow is done with cfl that is why I was asking the colors I was thinking about maybe adding these to my lights if they were red.

I've used these for veg-they worked fine- shake the bulb a little before you buy-the guts break pretty easy.

anyone? | the right leds for growing really depend on the growers situation and needs- the more bud you need- the higher the led wattage goes, thats why I still think light intensity is so important-bio-mass.Earlier led tek made good on isolating the red/blue usable light from spectrum, but what they lacked was an understanding of the required wave-lengths- now we know our plants prefer different peaks at different phases of growth-we're just not totally sure of which ones.To red and blue-with pks of 660-670nm(deep reds) and 460(blue)-we now add white, and orange.Like trace elements in soil-just a dab will do ya.If we knew what and when we could use higher wattage led diodes-turned on and off at key points in the plants life cycle. But the right ones for now are a ratio of 8-1-1? 8-2? 7-1-1-1- who knows? Certainly not me, but it seems a higher ratio of red-660nm-8-/blue 460nm-1/white(color temp should be cool- you've got the red covered-IMHO)-1, thats 8 red, 1 blue, 1 white-so out of a 100 diodes-80 would be red(660 nm)/ blue(460nm) 10/ white-10. This is just my opinion, and what I've seen home-brewed on the net-those guys are using 15-20 watt diodes. So theres the intensity arguement.

I can attest that the 1w diode ufo's are not on a competing level with hps. The 15-20w diode homebrew units are looking like the real deal. But we're talking alot of time and money. You could set up a full size grow-2 grow rooms, for the price of an led micro-grow.But my 220w all led grow did produce some dense dank blueberry.More experimentation is needed before a conclusion is reached.

real important stuff like dry weight watt for watt
| Another real important stuff is watt for watt cost benefit.

From the photo, I can't tell how large this is or if there are individual lights grouped together.
I wonder, if you could mix&match the inner bulbs through replacements ?
