Question led

The more I read about led's, the more I like them. There's one now that use 700 watts, but puts off like the equivalent if a 2500 watt hid. Just wondering what everyone elses thought and information on these lights were. looking for legite info. so if your a newb, dont even bother. I'm a newb to this sight, but was a five year veteran of overgrow. So let's see what everyone thinks

Maybe 3500 watts of low pressure sodium HIDs, but no 700watt LED is going to come CLOSE to 3500 watts of HPS both grown correctly.

3600 watts is 6 600watt HPS. There are myriad grow journals out there showing 600 watt HPS lights yielding near 3lbs in vertical setups. That's the best I have seen. I would eat my hat if you could show me a 700 watt LED that can make 18lbs. Hell, I'd eat my hat if it could do HALF that.

The fact of the matter is that LED is just now starting to equal HPS and in fact HPS tends to have a ptoential yield of about twice what LED does, watt for watt. Long story short, that 700watt LED would be lucky to match what a single 600watt HPS can potentially do.
