Not as bad as some members make it sound like it would do. How do you find it compares to CFLs or HIDs?

Cheers`;`Hatch`;` | MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM 3 of em means a bit of initial investment dont it.LOL Just when I thought it was expensive to jump into buying two quality HID setups one being a Dual 400 2 way continuous MH&HPS. Geez id had ta be layin out the change for 3 of them UFOs let alone all those others.LOL That setup is truly "off the frkn chains"

Hey BF, Looks like you are trying floros this time for side growth? How do the buds compare are they light and fluffy or heavy and dense? Keep up the led grow one of these days I want to try one too. | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to 1hitter For This Useful Post: | |

These lights are no where near ready for cash croppers. But for the small home-grower they just have too many advantages over hid.One is NOT penetration. The 1w diodes just cant compare to the intense penetrating power of hid, but for the micro-grower that has about 2-3 feet of height to deal with thats not a problem.

Im told it will do fine for veg, but not for flowering. Is this so? I tried to send it back...saying it wouldnt grow tomatoes...but the rep assured me he had grown MANY tomatoes, LOL. What could I say? I am only just now starting my seeds, so I have nothing to really report, so far. Im just wondering what to expect? FWIW,I have 10 seedlings in 16 oz cups under the UFO.
What should I expect?

Dixie | No worries, your plants will grow just fine. Can you give a little more info? Are they feminized seeds? What variety? Check the specs on your ufo- does it have 660nm red diodes-call the guy that sold it to ya-if he dosent know, inform him that he should probably find out for ya.660 nm reds are required for flowering, you've probably heard the bad press on ufo's made with 620-630nm diodes.Think of nm(nanometers) as color temp-indication-2700k fluoros-flowering 6500k-veg so thinking along those lines- 630nm-growth/ 660nm-flowering.If your ufo does not have the required diodes-supplementation with some 2700k(flowering) fluorescent light-will do the trick.
