Rep Power: 138 | | How has weed helped you? What prescriptions drugs have you come off? Our movement! With the disappointment of my MMAR card not going through due to techicalities it has brought to my attention how important weed has been to my life Here are some of the many ways that weed has helped me cope through life: I suffer with fibromyalgia which comes with all kinds of physical pain and mental grief - settles my anxiety disorder in most cases FAR better than any prescription drug has ever without the unwanted side effects of effexor.....social anxiety - including many symptoms of ptsd which I was prescribed epival - insomnia which I was prescribed sleeping pills which I hated and there were many - pain for which I was prescribed tramacett along with physio therapy - helps me focus as I can get distracted easily - curbs feelings of depression - helps maintain stability and peace of mind - helps with creativity - helps give a sense of well being and I can honestly say that it has saved my life and without it I do not think that I could function normally within society but more importantly don't want to My MAIN disorder is fibromyalgia and the physical and mental pain from: I am doing some research for an upcoming marijuana magazine and am looking for some input into the many reasons why marijuana should be legal under certain restrictions User names will NOT be used unless permission has been granted from you. My intention here is to show that the marijuana is not the terrible narcotic that it has been listed as. In documentation from you members showing that we have tried 'the 'doctor method' and it has failed miserably and often has done MORE HARM to us than the marijuana has ever and that feel that we seem to get experimented with. If marijuana falls under a different category other than narcotic, it can then make some progress in making it easier for a doctor / patient relationship if it is something that still needs to be prescribed. Not only do I want to make an article about this but I want this information to be made like an anonymous petition in hopes that it gets to the proper people who can also make a difference..(Our government officals everywhere throughout the world) If we get as many people to speak out about how weed has actually HELPED them and mention that the treatment they have received by following the standard practices of MD's alike and how it has failed, we can then link up all of these online claims and bombard the governmemt once a month on the 20th @ 4:20 After a while this list will become longer and longer and there will be so many responses and emails going to the governments throughout the world that we WILL be HEARD loud and clear PLEASE help me make a difference in our marijuana laws and I thank you ahead of time for participating. | | The Following 3 Users Say Thank You to Lacy For This Useful Post: | |

I also use it for moderate to severe depression.

Rep Power: 138 | | Thanks Somedude, I have added this thread to several sites so far with a very successful response. Later we can link them all together but the info will not have any user names as I want to make sure that members safety comes first. Like J angel keeps saying, we are better together as one than alone Its not realistic that the government is going to legalize marijuana is one big decision but if we focus all our effort on one small change then perhaps we can get somewhere. I have fybromialgia and degenerative disk disease, to deal with them I have been on narcotic pain meds, two different kinds, Recently I have been turning to marijuana for the pain so I might not have to use as many pills each day as the pills are doing a number on me with their side affects, and yes it's working for me..I have muscle spasm and have been prescribed a medicine for that, I have turned to marijuana so's to relieve me of the to often spasm, unless the spasms are to strong at times, I do swear the marijuana has helped, . I am bipolar, adhd, ptsd, and get anxiety spells. I take meds for the bipolar ( for bipolar I do need my meds, the perscribed meds are so far the only way to deal with my bipolar)..I also take a perscribed med. for the adhd, Now that I am not sure the marijuana helps, for me anyways, I will say that I know it doesn't hurt it.. The marijuana deffinately does help for the anxiety, that is a foreshur. All in all I do believe I would be much better off health wise if I was perscribed MMJ to replace the medicines that have the terrible side affects...

yikes.. pretty much any one of those except the adderal would lead me to scratch all my skin off....
I get the itchy "spider web" creepy crawlies really bad and moderately nauseous from opiates.

Yeah right! The thing is the government is NOT going to all of a sudden make weed llegal BUT if we keep harpering on them to at LEAST change the category that marijuana is under, then progress can start for it to be de-criminalized.. Thanks again people. This idea has gained quite a bit of popularity and hopefully it will make a difference

Well, Ive come off of Plaquenil, Mobic, Omeprazole, Anti-depressants, you name it. All i take now is iron, b12, folic acid and prednisone. I went from 17 twice daily meds to practically nothing. Which is a great comfort to know I can live comfortably if I ever lose my health insurance that pays for the un-godly prescriptions they try to pump me....
Weed has done wonders for my health and sanity, Now if only there was a plant to cure hearthache.....
THen this world would be a truly perfect place..jk

THen this world would be a truly perfect place..jk | This seems to be a common theme here of patients being overmedicated. With the amount of dangerous side effects and potential deaths you would think they would at least CONSIDER that we should be entitled to have options. The universe isn't wrong in growing spruce trees, black eyed susie's, or marijuana. They all have a purpose within the scope of our world created by nature. When man intervenes in things we do not know about, we place harsh judgments on the subject where none needs to exist. Look at history and all the things that used to be against the law. It wasn't that long ago that a black person couldn't sit at the front of the bus. It was illegal. When we think of this now it seems ridiculous and hopefully when we pass our next generation can shout in glory at the changes that came way due to our persistency in claiming that this is not right or ok with us. I have had the same doctor for over 10 years now. Years ago after a being side swiped by a double trailer mac truck I was hospitailized and later released in much pain. My doctor put me on tramacett which worked well for a while but I got addicted to them and needed more to relieve the pain. Then I started getting depressed so my doctor put me on effexor which made me slow. After gaining over 60 pounds my doctor tried putting me on all kinds of medications that were horrible. One prescription I had been on for a number of years was epival for ptsd which I have very badly along with and depression. Once the depression started setting in I knew I could not afford to sink there any longer and took action by smoking a joint. I had quit for over 3 years due to the fact that my hubby quit smoking cigarettes and my toking bothered him. I agreed but when all this happened I began again. At first hubby was against it but he quickly realized how much better I did on it than not and supported my decision to use. Since 2007 I have been trying to get my MMAR card for pain from fibromyalgia and my ptsd and depression. After coming forward with my doctor to my surprise he was all for it and said he was a marijuana advocate so i thought everything would be fine and my card would be put through. NOT! My doctor said he could not sign my application because he said he is not allowed to prescribe maijuana. In doing some research I discovered here in Ontario that the doctors have been told not to sign it by their protection organization so i figured this was the case. He said he did not mind me using cannabis as long as it was not smoking it but suggested I use it orally instead and even mentioned marinol which has been disapproved here in canada but accepted in the UK. I listened to his reasoning and started making my own canna treats which was what he said he gf did. So later in 2008 after I got my MMJ card from the T.C.C. I went in and showed it to him and he thought it was cool. I then asked if he would consider signing as disclaimer and that way it is protecting his decision in treating me so he said to bring it in. A couple of weeks ago I brought it in and he signed it so I could then send my application in but he said again he could NOT sign it. After doing my own private research i find out that he really CAN'T sign it. As an MD he has had his authorization revoked in that department because of a bad history that is on his record. Of ALl the hoops I jumped through to try and get this card and to have this the reason why my application can't go through was heart breaking. If marijuana wasn't considered a narcotic then he could prescribe it. This is why I am striving to make a difference in just this one area. At least then it would be decriminalized. This would be a small difference but would have HUGE ramifications. I have never been in trouble with the law but don't want to be either. I've l;ost over 40 pounds so far but stil do not feel like myself. So for a year and a half I have been under the guidance of this doctor who has agreed to the use of medical marijuana but because of his record cannot precribe it making my application VOID
