Rep Power: 163 | | How Big is the Sticking point of Revenue Loss to Law Enforcement? How Big is the Sticking point of Revenue Loss to Law Enforcement and DEA and their possible resistance to the legalization of Cannabis? I Wonder how big this point will standout in silence and delay decriminalization of Cannabis? When it does go legal watch the many politicians that were against it chum up as if they were the instigators of a staggering increase in tax review and new jobs and ask why did we wait?

ive thought this many a time and the simple answer is they are lazy. think about it would you rather deal with the scared stoner kid you can fine the hell out of and in simple terms make an easy revenue off of, or would you rather go after the violent crack head or pcp induced drug rage of some other, or a violent murder or rapist who you dont get to fine and just have them sent to jail.

thats the point cops like to have an easy job, especially one that generates millions of dollars every year in fines to nonviolent offenders.

I think that politicians do not want the public (their voters) to think they favor the legalization, but they do not get the point, that probably most voters are in favor of legalization. Of course, we have very powerful lobby groups against us (religious groups, conservative groups, and specially, the drug-maker industry, which industry leaders wrongly think that they will lose a lot of revenue as a consequence of legalization)
I think that the increase of the world jail popullation (and affected families as a consequence of the head of the family to be in jail) will bring this matter to a point of not return, where the public money spent in police forces to look for MJ growers and consumers is more than the alleged "benefits"
Politicians have found that the best thing to do is doing nothing when a matter is so controversial (and profitable for some politicians that are "supported" by the above mentioned lobby groups)
Can we win, sure. How, we should UNITE all as JAngel is always claiming, and form or create a frontline against the lobby groups (the money against us). We should create Lobby group(s). For example, in some countries like Spain, a MJ Party was created just to get voters for this matter (it lost the election because they didnīt have the money to keep a high standard "propaganda", but got thousands of voters behind this idea) Just think hypotetically if that MJ Party members had the money to run more appropiate ads and some members were elected to the Spanish Congress and later the major party wants to pass a law, but they need some votes in Congress, so if the MJ Party can support their law in exchange to add descriminalization of weed. This is just an example of how we can change a little somewhere, and from there, we can create our expansion headquarter. And sample for the rest of the world to follow.
Just decades ago, to be a gay or lesbian was so criminalized as weed today (actually more than weed today), and those communities has won the battle by getting money to lobby, involve celebrities, teach the general public, and specially, uniting forces
If we do follow the same or similar strategy, we could obtain the same results.
This just my humble opinion (or my 0.02 pennies)
Good Luck
