thank you to the veterans of wars past and present, who may not have always gotten the support they deserved, you are loved, you are respected, you are needed, you are braver men than most.

I have never served in the Military yet, I have always appreciated their sacrifice.
I now live in a very small town, less than 1500 people and yet, I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of effort this small town expended in honoring our fallen hero's and those still with us.
I live across the street from our towns cemetary and so, I was able to get a unique perspective of this.
I have taken photographs and compiled them in to slide shows.
Today, at the memorial service, it was stated that in this small towns cemetary, there are entombed 435 veterans. The oldest I've found is a veteran from the War of 1812. A good deal of them fought in Cuba, Korea, World War One and Two. About half of the veterans served in Vietnam, the Gulf war and unfortunately todays raging wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I hope you will enjoy this pictorial of Memorial Day in Rogers City Michigan.

Default Thanks!

Richard Owl Mirror,

Thank you for taking the time to honor our vets and putting together the slide show. I think most of us we have either served in the military, or had a family member that has. Regardless of your situation, your efforts are much appreciated by the GP Vets and their family members!

Your pain, your tears and yes, your blood have kept us free enough to be here.

God bless you, one and all, wherever you are and when ever you are.

Without you, who knows where WE would be.

Peace
