Default A Soldier Mourns Jackson's death~Thought Provoking~

A Soldier Mourn's MJ's Death

This is written by a young man

serving his third tour of duty in Iraq.

Thought you might find his take on the

Michael Jackson news interesting.

Okay,I need to rant.

I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report

on MichaelJackson.

As we all know, Jackson died the other day.

He was an entertainer who performed for decades.

He made millions, he spent millions, and he did a lot of things

that make him a villian to many people.

I understand that his death would affect a lot of people,

and I respect those people who mourn his death,

but that isn't the point of my rant.

Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America

loses their minds with grief.

When a man dies whose only contribution to the country

was to ENTERTAIN people, the Amercian people find the

need to flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress

sees the need to hold a "moment of silence" for his passing?

Am I missing something here?

ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's a freaking martyr

because he entertained us for a few decades?

What about all those SOLDIERSwho have died to give us freedom?

All those Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked

to fight in a war, still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the United States of America.

Where is their moment of silence?

Where are the people flocking to their graves or memorials

and mourning over them because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when a Soldier dies, there are more people saying

"good riddence," and "thank God for IEDs?"

When did this country become so calloused to the sacrifice

of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off
their deaths, and instead,

throw themselves into mourning for a "Pop Icon?"

I think that if they are going to hold a moment

of silence IN CONGRESS for Michael Jackson, they

need to hold a moment of silence for every

service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They need to PUBLICLY recognize every life that has

been lost so that the American people can live their callous

little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE, those that are

living and those that have gone on, have provided for them.

But, wait, that would take too much time, because there

have been so many willing to make that sacrifice.

After all, we will never make millions of dollars.

We will never star in movies, or write hit songs that the

world will listen too.

We only shed our blood, sweat and tears so that people

can enjoy what they have..

Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it.
Remember these five words the next time

you think of someone who is serving in the military;

"So that others may live..."

Isaac

In Canada, every death is announced, we are told of their family and children left behind, as it should be, and each hero is brought home and it is live on camera, as we watch the re-patriation ceremony. And then they are brought down the Highway of Heros, with flags hanging and people watching from bridges and along the roads.

Each time it breaks our hearts. Why do Americans NOT do this? I don't understand at all.

And we are told Canadians have no national pride or spirit.

This must be changed.

peace

The US is a great nation and arguably... still the best in the world, but that doesn't mean we always will be and it certainly doesn't mean we can't learn from others to improve ourselves. Many times I hang my head in shame, but I'm still here and have no intent to go elsewhere... not yet anyway.

Way ta go Montel! Good for him!

It is this accurate perspective on things we have to keep, which is missing in all of this. Good for him. I like his honesty.

First documents from Jackson toxicology report unsealed

Lethal levels of the powerful anaesthetic propofol were found in Michael Jackson's body at the time of his death, according to an unsealed search warrant affidavit.
The news is the first to come from recent findings by officials at the Los Angeles County Coroners office, which have been sealed until now while police continue their investigations into the King of Pop's death.
According to the Los Angeles Times newspaper the affidavit was unsealed on Monday in Houston, Texas, where a storage facility belonging to the pop star's doctor Conrad Murray was raided by police last month.
In the search warrant documents, Murray tells LAPD detectives he had been treating Jackson for insomnia for six weeks before the singer's death, and he had been giving Jackson 50 milligrams of propofol every night using an intravenous line.
The doctor also claims he was trying to wean his famous patient off the drug and had lowered the dosage to 25 milligrams and mixed it with other sedatives.
He states that on June 23 -- two days before Jackson's death -- he administered two replacement medications and withheld the P propofol.
In the newly unsealed affidavit, Dr. Murray reveals he gave Jackson Valium at 1:30 a.m. on the morning of his death and when that failed to relax the pop star, he injected Lorazepam intravenously at 2 a.m. and administered Midazolam an hour later.
Jackson reportedly died later that morning after suffering a cardiac arrest

Lumix, from the sound of those articles the guy was a total pharmaceutical wreck...

Thats the dangers of that stuff the doctor gives you...cause it'll kill you!

Jackson's life was a total mess, and I am sure he had major mental issues to go along with whatever other crap he had. Unfortunately he had the money to have a MD shooting him up "legally" every few hrs.

If MJ would have stuck with MJ, maybe he wouldn't have been such a freak.

Big up to Montel ,I was never a fan of his,I am now.In the UK we get much the same sort of coverage as Canada, and much the same reaction. The soldiers bodies are flown in to an RAF base in Wiltshire and A funeral cortege drives through the same small village almost on a daily basis now and yet the streets are ALWAYS lined with Service and Ex Service personel as well as locals and people who make a point of going there simply as a mark of respect. If the powers that be and the Media in the US fail to do likewise,it suggests to me a callous disregard for those laying down their lives in the much vaunted 'War On Terror' That the US government and Media alike were all so keen to get into after 9/11,Shame on them!
On a personal note,a cousin of mine,SGT Paul McAleese(you may recognise his Surname, his father John was the first SAS man in, during the Iranian embassy seige in London in the Eighties) was killed in Helmand Province,Afghanistan a few days ago by an IED while trying to rescue a comrade. His wife gave birth to his first Son,Charlie,Three weeks before he deployed. He and all those like him are far more worthy of our tears than Michael Jackson.
Thanks to all who take the time to read this.Tumnus(I respect you putting your name here, but sir, it is not safe)

Default Don't be sorry Tumnus

Ahh hell Mr Tumnus,
I am glad to hear a persons opinion when it is from the soul. The Hollywood facade is a bad case of root rot, the lemmings eat it up. These actors & entertainers are looked up to in a "holy worshiping way". If the humanitarian dies does "Not my Rev. Al Sharpton" show up? Only if the camera is on. The propaganda machine can influence the weak minds, distract the flouride head, boot lickers & feed the sheep with their irrelevent Crap sandwich of media persuation. I will hold my family & few freinds in a higher reguard than any person on the that is based in the fake world of corprate media.

Thank you Tumnus
