I hear ya! I retired in'96 after 20yrs! when I first enlisted in '77 everyone from E-1 to O-3 maybe higher was getting stoned! then the damn "Air Dales" pilots and aviators screwed it up by doing coke and causing too many mishaps haha! It is awesome smoking a bowl while in the middle of the ocean sailing around on a Destroyer or Amphip-ship!

Former jarhead, here.
Sitting in the cockpit of a CH-46f with the red instrument lights, listening to the ADF, in the middle of the Med, burning a bowl of Egyptian #1. 45 pilots, almost all stoners. 150 enlisted, almost all stoners. Ahhhh, the good old days.

Hey! Pappy, indeed they were good days! I recall many days doing "plane guard" while underway while deployed! I served on 2 Destroyers and 2 Fleet Flag Ships and 1 Amphip. ship! All so worked on Pre-Positioned Deployed Cargo Ships. Worked a lot with the Marines My first 2 ships there was a lot of stoners from enlisted to officers! From what I hear the military has changed dramacticly, especially with boot camp an new recruits! We may have been stoners when I first joined! but at least we were'nt "Whiners" an "pacifist" lol we worked hard and partyed harder!!
