Isn't 7 just a remake of Vista?

sort of... its how vista should be,.. a friend who did a test run for MS said it was pretty good... im currently on vista 32bits and sometimes it almost makes me want to get up find mr gates and personally strangle him. i had down gradedd tto xp, but after doing so around 4-5 times cause my laptop had to go to the shop a few times for various hardware problems and they reformatted always to the original os.. vista i gave up downgrading cause of the hassle...
i dunno... its obviously better than what i have (feedback from said friend).. but i wont change for the above reasons...
whats your opinion?

I actually like Vista. But, you need a strong machine and some technical expertise to get it dialed in and running smoothly.

i first tested this OS on our guest computer. it has 502 ram, and had win xp pro sp3 installed on the main hdd. it was slow as crap, keep in mind this is because of the OS, not spyware, or anything else that would make you assume it was not the OS. after i installed win 7 eternity, that pc is actually at least 10 times faster, easy. faster boot up time, it runs Aero, and it isnt even supposed to. xp, while tried and true so to speak is old hat. just like some folks still have vcr's, some people still run older operating systems. not that there is anything wrong with that.
i agree, vista was a major blunder, i used vista ultimate for a long time, then i switched to linux for a while, then i switched back to vista because i grew tired of having compatibility issues with pretty much anything. and i did the various work arounds and such you can find in the linux forums and on irc, but in the end it was just too much. then i saw windows 7 and switched to it, beta build 7067 actually, and the BETA build blew me away. boot up time less than 10 seconds, it recognized EVERYTHING immediately, all my games, controllers, everything is compatible. it also runs much smoother, and is much more efficient when it comes to memory management. i highly recommend windows 7 for anyone out there who uses a pc. plus all the extras like aero peek, instant window snapping, easy window clean up, and many others, just make sense and can simplify your pc experience.
ok, now i have to load a bowl. thx guys. sheesh.
