for anyone else that is infected as what this person described as "scareware" Scareware - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The best product Ive found to remove it is "smitfraud fix" all for the low price of freeware product. Ive gotten some ick before that malwarebytes didnt fix and this software did....

Rep Power: 113 | | Update...just got up the courage to plug the origional HD that has wpp on it. Linux wouldn't recognize it but my new drive with windows 7 on it now is allowing me to access my resume. I copied it over to my new drive lol Ran Avira on it and it found the nasty bugger! Spybot search and destroy didnt find it and im trying to download mcafee from comcrap atm. Is there anything else I can do at this point to be safe? I was even running mcafees when this origional PITA showed up. Oh Win7 also says the hard drive is damaged and needs to be backed up. Could a virus have literally eaten sectors like that? It was fine b4 this fiasko lol Well back to scanning guys!! |

mcaffee is a joke..
hard drive errors could cause some of those issues too.. I would run checkdisk and maybe a mfgr hard drive diag utility.
Working fsecure link to online scanner http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home...shc/front.html |
