internet connection problem

Calling on fatman!

Hey fatman.....I got a small irritating problem for ya to ponder.
I run a small wireless network using linksys router and antennas.

My personal PC uses an antenna, it is not hooked up directly to the net, the wifes is.

Here is my problem, sometimes, it seems to disconnect itself at will. I believe it thinks it is not being used, and maybe goes to sleep?

Problem is, if I am making a long post, it'll go to sleep, and when I hit "submit new thread" I get a blank page, than I see the all too farmiliar message at the lower right side....you are now connected the the net.

Needless to say, I have to type my post all over again, which pisses me off.

Is there a way to force it to stay connected?

THAT I can relate to. Happend to me this morning on a large auction site...wrote up an entire listing (technical details and all) and it gave me a blank screen when I said...ENTER.

If the antenna is powered by the PC, check your "power save" settings. That is most likely the problem. Of course you may want to go into your network settings and check there as well. It doesn't sound like a connection problem such as the port/jack the antenna is plugged into, but you may want to check that in case it has worked itself loose(even the most subtle movement over time can cause this).Those are the most obvious places you want to check first. If that is not the case let me know.
