Can someone that knows explain to us peeps what this does for the site and how it protects us? And please use small words???? LOL! Thanks Dude!

It encrypts the communications between this site and the person requesting the information. Anyone that can see the communications between the site and a user will now see mostly garbage. This is especially advantageous for anyone using a proxy as the proxy will no longer be able to read what is being sent. They still have the chance to see the page however since the DNS portion isn't encrypted, but there are options for that too. (On the user end.) But basically, anytime we login, etc, passwords are no longer being sent over clear text. Now they can't be read.

Except it now gives IE users a popup about insecure items on a secure page... very annoying. We may have to ditch it.

grr.. it's "seperated" now.. so there is http & https -- firefox and opera do fine with it.. https version needs to be tested on different mobile platforms. maybe setup a lil server redirection to send ie users to http and the rest to https too..

I'm not very techy, but I'm using Chrome and everything is peaches. The only interruption I had was when Dude was fudging around in the Admin Controls working this out. Just a couple o' cents in case it's useful.
