I've got a new undisclosed location. Had the phone co. come out and do an install. Gun was in area where installer worked before he arrived, I noticed it was gone the next day.
I think some of our laws in the U.S. are a bit strict, so I really don't like getting anyone in trouble. I called the company and asked if they could have him call me. I thought if I got the gun back I'd leave it go. The company wouldn't allow that, so I filed a complaint against the installer with his company. I then called LEO and an officer came out, took a statement, pictures, etc. I promised to file charges. My reasoning: I hate thieves. Here's an older guy working for a large phone company stealing things from customers while on the job.
On the other hand, like I said in the beginning, I think a lot of our laws...penalties, really, are a bit stiff. Any firearm theft is a felony.
Let's hear it, I'll start the popcorn.

You did the right thing! If any crime happened and it involved your weapon, you would get quite screwed. There would be no way to explain your way out of some jail time. It sucks dealing with Leo but you got to do whats right for you. Take care and good luck!

Tex | Sorry to hear that man. I had a brake in recently and I'm just so gald I didnt have my Mossberg next to the bed as usuall. I recently decided to let my father hold onto any guns while I'm growing. Just like you say, the laws are a bit stiff.
I should have just as much right to defend my life as anyone else, and I'm more likley to get jacked or shot at than most people. Just the nature of the bizz. But dude, you dont wana get popped with a gun in your grow house. I think it pretty much doubles your troubles. Just not worth it. I'll just take every other precaution available.
I hope you get it back, or get the bastard locked up. Good luck and best regards.

sorry to hear you got ripped off. I live in california and i'm a medical patient trying to garden and i'm also interested in getting a gun. the thing i'm worried about is what happens when the feds show up and decide that i bought a gun to run a criminal enterprise? right now i'm living in a large city but i do want to move to the mountains at some point and in the middle of no-where i'd like to be able to protect myself. i used to camp with a friend that didn't smoke but had a gun and i know he was worried when we traveled together because we had a gun and pot in the car. i would probably want a shotgun and some kind of handgun as well. how can i keep drugs and guns seperate? thanks.

Well, I Think You Did The Right Think, I Hate A Thief Myself!!!,,I Would Have A Very Low Profile In The MJ Department Tell This Blow's Over, Even More So If You Are Growing At Your House To Be On The Safe Side, They Could Send A Nosey Detective Out At Anytime To Look Around Ex-Specially If It Is A Big Company,, So Be Safe..

I keep a mossberg in my home... I know it could get me in a lot of trouble with the garden being here too... but I would rather have it if I need it and explain it later then let someone hurt or kill me. Comes down to the basic rule of growing... don't tell anyone.

I have always had guns in my home.. from the time I was little. I won't change that simply because I grow on a personal level. I am not a criminal afterall.. our laws are just twisted.
